Her Name?(part 1)

It had been a day or two since the children of gracefield plantation escaped. Ray the oldest of the children had barely escaped his death form fire and being shipped as a premium quality on his 14th birthday.

Right now he was running for his life from a regressed demon with his family. He noticed that all of them were getting tired from the continuous running. At the corner of his eyes ray realised that the sunlight was shining on the killing tree trap which the fell into before allowing it to be active. "I think there's a chance". Ray said catching Emma's attention. "Oh! you mean..." the ginger head said understanding her emo sibling's plan immediately.

"Yeah. Get it fall into the killing trap tree." Ray said to make sure he and his sibling are thinking the same. "Roger. Then lets split up..." Emma started to say knowing that Ray is the smartest of all of them and this plan would most likely work when she was abruptly cut off by ray say that he wants to do it alone.

Emma remembered her friends suicidal plan. "Ray, you cant still be thinking of...No, I wont let you!" The crystal green eyed girl said absolutely against the idea of her friend sacrificing his life own life. "No it's not that! I am not thinking of making a heroic sacrifice or anything. I am only taking care of this because I am confident I can do it." Ray said to reassure the girl that he won't be killing himself.

"Which one of us would win in a game of tag?" The black haired boy asked Emma. Reluctantly she answered that it would be him who would win. "Right, so trust me I promise I'll catch up. Wait ten seconds after I go, then find find Gilda's group and lead them downwind...as fast as you can, got it?" Ray explained on what to do to her.

*author-chan breaks into the story real quick*  author-chan: so for the sake of plot the pursuers don't find Ray. ok my announcement is done. Continue the story.

Ray successfully drives the demon to the trap roots but the sunlight had disappeared making the roots no longer active. 'Shit! I did not think this will happen, looks like I have to keep running if I wanna keep my promise.' ray cursed to himself as he kept running. He knew he could not run forever just like everyone else he was also already tired. He kept on draging his feet to run as the exhaustion got to him he fell down and turned back to look at the demon nearing him.

 'Damn it...looks like I am going to die after all...sorry Emma I don't think I can keep our promise.' he thought to himself. That's when something smashed into the demon causing it to hit a tree and lose consciousness(I am not sure if the demigorgans can loose consciousness but we gonna pretend that they can). Before he fully realised what was happening Ray had already lost consciousness.(I used consciousness so many times in this parah )

~Meanwhile with Emma~

"what was that loud bang just now?" Emma asked surprised by the bang. "I-is something crazy gonna come after us again?" said Nat the narcistic 11 year old boy. They all huddle up together ready to run if anything happens. "Everything seems alright..." said Anna the platinum blond 9 year old. "...Hey, Ray's taking a while, isn't he? Shouldn't he be back by now?" asked Gilda the 4th oldest sibling asked worried.

Everyone started worrying if Ray was ok. Emma face paled on the thought of one of her best friends dying again. Diminic noticed Emma's face paling and enquired if she was ok. "Thanks buddy, I am ok." Emma said to comfort her worried sibling. "I am just gonna check on the situation. Everyone else, keep heading down wind" Emma told her siblings and they agreed. 'Ray should have been able to push the beastly demon down the killing trap tree.' Emma thought to herself then she felt her temperature rising. Thud. she fell to the ground.

Hearing the thud her siblings turned back to see what happened and found her passed out on the floor. Emma's siblings ran towards her body on the floor in worry. Gilda took her head and placed it on her lap. "She's bleeding! The wound on her ear opened up!" Anna said as she analyzed(I had to prevent myself from writing anna-lyzed) her big sister for any more wounds. "She has a terrible fever!" Gilda cried out. 'How long has she been like this...? Has she been running in this state the whole time?!' Gilda thought to herself horribly worried for her best friend.
