Marigold
***
Oh how she was perfect, the most beautiful faerie I have ever seen. The highish flamboyant rhythm of her elegant voice and motherly tone melted my heart. Whenever I listen to her guiding all the younger fairies, it's just pushing me to work harder and master all my magic.
She was a calm and free creature and most of all, the most outstanding faerie in the entire fae land.
Her towering ginger hair flowed down to her posterior along with round golden pupils that turned sharp and vigorous whenever on discipline mode. From the day everything fell apart, the humans were no longer friends with the faes escaping from the last fae world, she then settled in Atlea with Vinchi where Vinchi raised me, Esme.
Vinchi was the only fae that understood me, also the oldest. She listened to me when I wanted to talk, and told me about my mother.
Vinchi often teaches me forbidden magic secretly. No one should ever find out about this otherwise big trouble.
My sister never talked to me about mom, ever. Sometimes I wondered if she even cared.
Everyone in the entire faerie land looked up to her, from the youngest flower to the boys and men. Even the mothers and elderly. This outstanding and perfect faerie I'm talking about is
"Marigold"
And speaking of perfect, as I was thinking about all the outstanding traits of my flawless sister I was then brought back to reality...
It was the day all faes came to the gem province to test their magic. It was my day, the day I've been waiting for my whole life. The era Marigold had been training me for.
"How could I be so distracted"? I thought distinctively.
As soon as I mentioned distracted Beatrix a gorgeous new faerie started to take set on me as If I was a commoner and as If I wasn't important. Yes....but that's the trick, in front of my sister Beatrix is the most elegant and sweetest flower. She treats me so nice, brings me bouquet gifts and watermelon fruits but when Marigold is gone I'm a complete loser and a nobody.
And that's when she said-"
"Esme"! Do you want to come over tomorrow?
I could not believe my ears, Beatrix never asked me to come over, well I've never gone into her room before, only her two friends Malayna and Hazel who were her roommates and ten times cool enough than me even though my sister was the leader. But somehow it seems to me that she never realized.
I took a deep breath in and acted as if I never heard her, but she continued ruining my plan in seconds.
After all the years I have spent at this school. I soon realized she took set on me and me alone. I distanced myself from her that is why she has never seen me use magic before. Neither did my sister, I didn't know what was wrong with me but I was the only one in the fae school without magic. Even the teacher had magic, what was so off about me standing out like that.
I paused and look around, all the faeries were heading back to their dorm rooms. I guess I got so distracted in my head my time has already passed.
Beatrix did this!
"I'll be right back guys" I heard a voice say.... then understand it was the voice of Marigold. She was telling her friends to hold on so she could talk to me.
"Hey"? I said glancing at her.
"Esme"? she replied......what was that about?
What's what about? I asked really confused.
"Beatrix"?...........
"Beatrix"?......I asked back
What...what about her?
"The way she treats you"! Do you know what I'm talking about?
Are you just seeing this now? I asked her.... because she has been doing this for about a year now, I just clear my head with nature and act like it didn't happen at all.
Oh! I'm so sorry Esme and there I was falling in her arms. She hugged me tight and kissed my forehead.
Want to go to the woods tonight? I invited her
Of course, she said no to me
Esme? You know I love the woods, but it's dangerous. A human could be out there right now and........I cut her off.
Why do you hate humans so much? Not because Mimi stopped you from going that doesn't mean you should stop me from going too.
She stood tight-lipped, a shocking look In her eyes. She then stepped closer to me.
You better watch how you talk to me! said Marigold with a stern expression.
I couldn't take it anymore.
You need to stop telling me what and what not to do. I'm fifteen years old and I can take care of myself! And without another word, I stormed off into my room.
Sitting around my desk, I looked at the plant in front of me. Stocking my hand out, I tried to grow the plant but knew that it wouldn't happen. But to my eyes, a green emerald flower slowly opened up. As I moved my hands around the plant followed in every direction. My visions glimpsed the mirror and to my surprise, my eyes were both glowing green. I had magic.....I did have magic
I opened my curtain and lifted the window pane. Climbing through the square-shaped window, I set off for the timbers.
The moonlight shone upon me, but I didn't feel like the moon. I felt like the whole forest myself, the black night sky reflecting upon the tree branches and the hillside bank running deep and green. On the other side of the river, the golden foothill slopes curved into the green valley side. The water is lined with trees, willows fresh grasslands every spring night. I soon spot a yellow-reddish glowing light.
I came closer, In front of the low horizontal limb of a giant Sycamore, there was a rubicund, orangish, ash pile made of lanterns, I thought.
I've never seen anything so beautiful. But that's when K realized that someone was sitting next to it.
I slowly walked, my long black boots crunching the bulky sticks and shredded grass underneath it. It was a creature, that looked like us, but kinda different when you look at the features.
Short hair, a muscular figure, a chest without more flesh on top. It was sitting at the lantern, eating someone I thought.......or something. I hid behind the tree when I heard a low voice say.
"Come out"
