Away from home

Chapter one

Looking around I see an expanse of forest surrounding me. I remember every piece of forest I go into, it's part of one of my jobs, but I don't remember this one at all. So I decided to wonder how I got here.

I remember the night before, i had gone to bed being tired from a day out, but then when I woke up I was here. In an unfamiliar area of the woods I've never been in. How did I get here? And why am I here? After pondering those thoughts in my head for a bit, I decided to get off the grass I lay on. Looking around more, I notice I'm in a clearing of woods and it's mid-day. I decided to try and use my ability to see where I am. I focus on heightening my sense of hearing, and sure enough not even the forest sounds the same as what i've been in, but focusing further there's a town not too far south. I've got enough gold to last quite a while so money isn't an issue, the issue is how i'm gonna find my way back home. I'm not a very... talkative man per say, people annoy me and I don't have nearly enough of a social life to talk to someone in a non-work setting. Maybe there's a town name I can use? I've memorised every map of my area and beyond, perks of photographic memory, but people still might realize I'm not from there. I guess luckily i fell asleep in work clothes so im not walking around in PJ's. I look... relatively normal I guess, just enough to ask for directions then leave. Done and dusted.

Hearing only the crunching of leaves and the calm of the nearby town, I start walking while brushing off leaves to look not like I just woke up in a forest with no idea where I am. Suddenly the forest became a lot less dense and I could start to see the town. The name said 'falkreath'. Huh... HUH.?! THAT'S ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE KINGDOM, which are huge in their own right but back to the confusion, HOW DID I GET HERE IN A NIGHT! It had to have been someone's ability, but there was no-one near me with such a powerful teleportation ability, if there was I surely would know of them. Unless they came with the intent to have me not know of them, or anyone for that matter. Someone of that caliber would be quite the attraction in my small town.

I suddenly realize that I've reached the town, looking in an empty window. I look normal enough to not draw attention, but this is a town where most know each other. I decided to take a stop at the local tavern to have a sit down and have a think. As I walk in on the other side of the building is a widely known bard and his bodyguard, I sit in the seat furthest from them so I can think properly. I wont order anything as it's a waste of time, but I focus on the people in the tavern. I assume that it's busier than usual because of the bard, i recognise that he is called Taiyo and his bodyguard is Tsuki. Tayio looks like a usual bard, a face that screams confidence with bushy blonde hair, sea green eyes with eyeliner which is so sharp it could cut, and Tsuki is more...Monotone? Dark clothing, black hair with a light gray patch on the front, and a piercing deep blue stare. I suddenly realized I was staring when I made very awkward eye contact with him and decided to just look back at the table and act like that never happened.

Awkward...

Pulling out a small map from my satchel I locate the town and figure out generally how far it is, knowing I'll have to walk most of the way, sighing I realize it will take ages just to get to my kingdom, let alone my house. Leaning on my hand I decide to tune into the bard's performance. He's clearly got skill and passion for what he does, I can also feel the slight strong undertones in his voice, a voice ability or magic perhaps? Makes me wonder what he can do, his bodyguard as well, it makes my love for these magical things grow as I've never seen anyone with anything related to their voice before. I came to realize the show was ending as he finished and started saying thanks to the patrons of the tavern, turning to the window closest to me. I realise it's getting dark which means I should leave soon, preferring the dark of the night rather than the bright daylight. I mark the quickest walking path on my map and go to start packing up until...

"You're not thinking of walking that path are you? In the dark too?"

The sudden voice startled me so I turned to see who it was. Oh. It was the bard. "Erm.. Yea i was. I'm kinda used to that." I decided to say.

"Oh but you can't say you're seriously going that far just on foot?" he said "if so how did you get this far anyway?"

"Uh yea i am planning on walking it..." now i'm not gonna explain what happened, they'll think i'm crazy "and how i got here is a... long story?" I say, the end kinda sounding like a question, and suddenly realize that both of them sat down with me.

"I assume you know how dangerous forests can be at night right?" Tsuki suddenly chimes in, "it could be dangerous for you to walk that alone." and i was right he sounded VERY monotone.

"Er- yeah... It doesn't matter as I'm used to going there at night for my... job anyway" I decide to say, kind of regretting it and cursing my lack of social skills.

"Man, I can just tell you're not a social person eh?" Great, it's that obvious? "at least your trying to talk unlike a certain Tsuki here..."

"Shut up"

"Nuh uh."

As the two start bickering in front of me i try to think of ways to get out of this... situation
