The Transfer Student
The small, silver haired, boy had finally got up the courage to lift himself into a sitting position on the bed. The boy named "Kaname" had given his room to Zero. Kaname had slept on the couch. 'I'm sorry for the smell' was all he said to Zero.
Zero swung his feet out of bed. He could hear the vampire family's commotion happening in the kitchen. A little too clearly for his liking. He reached for the wrappings on his neck, a sudden throbbing was felt in his head. He gasped, seeing his clothes covered in blood. Zero rapidly tore off the button up shirt, causing a button to fly off. He watched the shirt hit the floor and noticed it's clean appearance. Zero picked up the baby blue shirt and turned it, looking for any stain. There was nothing. He sighed, placing it back on. "I should go apologize." He mumbled to himself.
Zero looked over at the door, nervous at its handle.
"Nyo, you need to eat something." A womans voice said. A plate clattered against wood. A few seconds later a fork scrapped against the plate slowly. More conversation went by, mostly between the mother, father, and the older brother. Zeros ears picked up a chair scrapping against the floor and then footsteps toward him.
Why could he hear things in perfect clarity? He covered his ears, hoping his palms could drown out the kitchen commotion. A door opened and closed. A window screeched open and he pressed his hands closer to his head. Why wouldn't his ears stop listening?
This was impossible... for a human.
Zeros eyes bulged out of his head. There was no way, he couldn't be. This was just the altitude of the school. Something. Anything but that.
Suddenly he could hear retching. Followed by crying. "Stupid vampire stomach." A harsh whisper said. Zeros hands fell from his head. He opened the door and walked down the hallway. Zero entered the girls room and saw the window was open. The winter air blowing the pink curtains upward. He approached the window and saw the blonde one huddled on the ground and a pile of vomit.
"What are you doing?" He asked. She gasped, flicking her head up to see him.
"What the hell! Get out!" She yelled.
"Kriyu." Zero turned to see the older brother at the doorway. "My sister asked you to leave." Zero glared at Kaname. The only reason he left was because he was intruding on her space.Kaname entered further into the room. He looked down at the pile of vomit. His sister was no where to be found. He popped his head out, looking around. Kaname closed the window.
"Mother is asking for you to return." He turned around to see Nyoko at the door way. He smirked.
"Yknow, for someone who says she isn't a vampire, you sure act like one."2
"Settle down!" The teacher smacked her ruler against the chalk board. Zero jumped at the loud wood. The ringing sound of students dwindled down. "You may have noticed a new addition to the classroom. Please make Mr. Kriyu feel welcome."It wasn't hard for the class to spot the new student. Most students had various shades of brown, black, and blonde hair. Zero was practically shinning against the crowd with his silver locs. He shrunk into his seat.
The class went on. Lunch began, and as usual, Yuki and Nyoko ate together at their bench. Nyoko had just some plain rice in a small tupperware container, Yuki had a ham and cheese sandwich cut into a heart. Along with select fruits. Nyoko brought out her metal chopsticks from her bag. Yuki popped open her lunchbox. "Wheres Zero?" Yuki asked.
"How should I know?" Nyoko replied.
"Father asked us to look after him!"
"Well then how come you don't know where he is? Just leave the guy alone, he probably escaped on purpose."
"What if he's lost?"
"He's still on campus, nothing bad'll happen to him. Leave him be, Yuki."
Yukis face scrunched up in a disapproving snear. She closed her lunchbox and shoved it in her bag, quickly walking away. Nyoko looked down at her Rice. "At least I don't have to eat." She said to herself. Nyoko followed Yuki into the small forest on campus. "Yuki!" She yelled. "You'll never find that boy on this big campus. He'll show back up!"
"What if he's lost and scared?!" She shouted.
"Hell be terrified with you stomping at him." Nyoko mumbled.
"I heard that!"
