The Torn Curtains
Nyoko stirred awake to the sound of glass shattering. She launched up right. Noticing the faint smell of blood. She sighed, living in the dorms was something she insisted on. Juri, her mother, insisted she stay in the house. With all the small injuries that humans make and have, plus living in a building full of hormonal teenage girls having their periods wasn't the greatest idea for a vampire like Nyoko. Yet, she was determined.
While the idea of living around of bunch of human teenage girls wasn't ideal, she would rather rip her eyes out. Wait for them to heal back, and rip them out again than be alone in the house with Kaien and Juris puppy love.
She swung her feet to the cold wood. Looking over at the window, and sighing. A student has been hurt, glass was broken. Was this her area? Should she check? Nyoko walked over to her mirror noticing the red glint in her brown eyes. It was growing. She gripped the sink, molding over if she should go check on a student. There was shattered glass, blood... blood. There was blood.
But she was Captian, and Zero was all the way in the boys dorm.
She grabbed her robes and swung them onto her. Nyoko opened the door and her heart sank. A dark aura enveloped her. Her feet took off down the hall, searching for the smell like a trained dog. She stopped and pressed her ear against the door of '4A'. Hima. She wasn't someone who Nyoko interacted with often. Behaved well, kept to herself.
"Hima? Disciplinary Committee Captain, Nyoko. I heard some crashing in your room. Are you okay?" Nyoko knocked on the door.
No answer.
"Hima, if you're not going to answer I have to open this door."
No answer.Nyoko opened the door. The door creaked open slowly revealing what could only be described as a crime scene. The bed was moved slightly away from the wall, the blankets were astray. Some still on the bed and some on the floor. From what she could see, it look like there was a struggle. She quickly scanned the room. Blood was pooled and streaked across the floor. Leading to the window, it had broken.
"Shit." Was all she said before racing out of her dorm and down to the moon dorms. She ran passed the gate and pounded on the large double doors.
"My lady?" Seiren asked, opening the door a crack. "Why have you come dressed in robes?"
Nyoko looked down, she didn't even notice she never put on shoes. "I told you not to call me that, where is Yuki?"
"Lady Yuki is in the livingroom, speaking with some of the night class." Seiren answered.
"Okay, thanks." Nyoko pushed her way in and ran over to the livingroom. Yuki was sitting on the couch, still in her white uniform. Sipping the glass full of bland, watered down, liquid. Aidou was sitting next to her, moving chess pieces around while Ruka sat across from him planning her next attack. "Yuki." Nyoko announced herself.
"Nyo? Should you not be asleep?" Yuki asked. The activity in the room haulted.
"My my, Nyo you should show your figure more often." Aidou smirked. Nyoko sneered at him.
"Yuki I need you to come with me."Yuki and Nyoko speed-walked across campus, Yukis feet sometimes tripping due to the fact she wasn't used to being in a rush this slow.
"A student was attacked?!" Yuki stopped. "We need to tell Headmaster!"
Nyoko grabbed her shoulder. "Do NOT butterfly out of here." Nyoko demanded. "If we tell father, he's going to have to report it! And all he's worked for will go to shit."
"We can't not tell anyone, Nyo."
Nyoko shook her head.
"Not even Zero?" Yuki asked.Nyoko paused, she didn't know how to answer. She didn't know why but she felt it wasn't the time to disturb him. "No, the scent is too strong he couldnt deal with that."
"I suppose..." Yuki seemed disappointed. "...I can sense the creature that took the girl. It's faint." Yuki looked up, knitting her brows, concentrating. Her arm twisted into dark butterflies. They circled around the two and separated in the night. "I can't pin point it."
"You're only using your arm because I can't do that. Go, look for Hima."
Yuki sighed with a smile. She bursted into a swarm of butterflies and surrounded the school grounds.
