It was him, his car, and the empty road. Steven felt as though he had been driving for days. Bored out of his mind, he searched for anything to brighten his mood. Up ahead of him he spotted a sign, specifically for a city. Being exhausted from a multi-hour long drive could bum anyone out, but Steven was just happy he'd get to make a stop. Steven was starving, and a little dehydrated, so he immediately set his hopes on finding a shop of sorts. He was ready to get some grub, and maybe a place to stay. Being outside of Beach City was exciting enough, the thoughts of just staying in the new place started to excite him. Making his way into it, he quickly scanned the buildings for some type of food place.

The first shop to catch Steven's eye was a small coffee shop. Hoping it was opened, He pulled up in front of the store. Making sure he had cash on him, Steven hoped to some being that the shop sold food. Stepping out of his car, he walked up to the store, confirming it was opened. walking in, Steven immediately noticed there was only one employee working there, a young man who appeared to be around his age. a glowing boy, with warm, welcoming [e/c] eyes, and a charming smile. Steven hoped everyone in this city looked just as stunning, because a little eye candy never hurt anyone. Suddenly becoming nervous, he tried to calmly approach the counter.

Steven was never the nervous type, but something was just clawing at his insides. Avoiding eye contact with the man, he began to place an order, anxiety apparent in his voice.

"Hello, I would like," taking a pause to scan the menu, Steven read out the first item to catch his eye, "A caramel frappe." He spoke with an unsure tone of voice, making him embarrassed.

"Of course sir, what size would you like?" the employee questioned.

"Oh, big I guess," Steven replied, unsure how to answer properly.

The employee held back a laugh, and placed his order, charging him $4. Sure, it seemed like a lot to pay for a drink, but it was hand made, and Steven was probably just there for the experience of the place anyways. Paying for the drink, he made his way to one of the rounded tables by the window.

Watching the employee work, Steven was somewhat amazed. Watching the cute, glass mug get filled up, cream out on top, and the caramel being drizzled on, it all got him thinking. His whole life he had spent fighting to save this. This was a human being. He had a life, a mundane job to do, a normal life to live. Steven's life was always action packed, and his "job" was to protect humans. The employee began to bring him his drink. Just watching him walk over made Steven ache. He wished he could be human in the way full humans were.

"Here's your drink, sir," the employee smiled gently at him, placing the mug in front of Steven.

Thanking the worker, Steven took a peak at his name tag. [Y/N]. It was a beautiful name for such a handsome person. Steven wanted to know more about him, know more about his world. As the clock above Steven's head hit 5:00 pm, it let out a jingle. With that, [Y/N] flipped the open sign to closed, and pulled out a broom. Steven just watched and drank his drink while [Y/N] cleaned.

"Hey, are you by any chance available after you're done with your shift?" Steven asked, surprising himself.

The worker, looking up surprised, smiled, and gave a nod for an answer. "Do you have a place in mind?"

"I'm new here, I was thinking maybe grabbing a hotel tonight and getting to know the city tomorrow, if you're down to stay the night with me?" Steven inquired, not aware of the implications of his words.

Blushing, [Y/N] nodded to the question, finishing up his cleaning. Not knowing what to expect, he removed his apron and hung it up. Steven took the stranger to his car, helping him into the passenger's seat. climbing into the driver's seat, Steven began driving around looking for a hotel to stay in. There didn't seem to be many in this particular area, or at least any decent looking ones, so he continued to drive deeper into the city.

"Oh, I've heard that Red Krabb Inn was good!" [Y/N] spoke up, seeing the Inn's sign appear in the distance.

Hearing this, Steven decided to make his stop there for the night. Going through the process of getting a room, he gave the spare key to [Y/N], and brought his belongings inside, ready to rest for the night.
