I was still screaming when my I jolted awake, my eyes snapping open.I sucked in as much air as i could fit in my lungs. My heart was beating way to fast to keep track, my breathing harsh and ragged, and my body coated with a thick layer of sweat. The blanket was half off me, tangled between my legs, and mostly taken by Ana.
Without needing to look at Ana I knew she was still sleeping. She eventually got used to nightmares, was born dealing with it. At the beginning months of her birth it was the worst. I had them frequently couldn't sleep for days and she kept crying and waking up to screams scaring her. Then luckily she got to get some sleep from getting used to it and became a heavy sleeper. To busy thinking and hearing my blood pounding in my ears I couldn't hear the banging on the door till I heard a voice.
"Hey?" I heard was said in a demanding voice that sounded pretty familiar.
Oh crap, I practically woke up the whole house. This was the first nigtmare I had since I've been here. Maybe with all the other stuff of moving here and a new place i didn't have them, but then reality must have sank in.
"Uh...Yes?"
"Open the door." He repeated loudly. Crap, crap, crap its Lawrence. What the hell do I do? Should I open it?
"W-wait a second."
This may be a way to have a civil conversation with him without any glaring. I threw a baby pink fluffy robe over my tank-top and shorts and tied it so it reached up to my knees. I opened the door gently and his shadow loomed over me. I thought I wasn't that short at only 5'3 for the age of nine-teen, but he proved me wrong. I was practically like face-to-face with his abdomen.
He had on a black wife beater that showed off the thick muscles on his arms and was tight around his chest making the ripples of his chest look sharper then when I'd last seen him.
I had to look somewhere else and if I didn't I was sure I would start counting the abs I saw on him. I know I'm weird like that.
I looked at the floor because I had a problem withe eyecontact. If I didn't know the person it would be ackward.
"Yes?"
He scanned my body with a hard look then pushed me out of the way and looked around the room without a word. Then he planted his eyes back and with an emotionless look he spoke.
"You screamed. Why?"
"So you see, I uh...had to go the bathroom to you know...pee and my toe, my toe got stabbed in the door frame. That happens alot and do you know how hard that hurts?"
His stare made it obvious he didn't believe me. "How are you able to walk if this pain was so excruciating?"
"Right, so I put on my big boy pants and braced it." It was getting pretty hard to make up lies. He looked smarter than that. I looked up at him with raised eyebrows, daring him to accuse me of lieing.
"Why are you sweating?" And he asked.
"What is this twenty-one questions?" This is getting annoying. Why is he asking so many things anyway? He's acting like he cares. He couldn't just come here and say to shut the hell up or something?
"Cause you woke me up with your screaming." He stated the obvious in a flat tone.
"Well then I'm sorry. What do you want me to do?"
"Stop screaming." He scokled and looked as emotionless as ever, not letting one other than boredem slip out.
"How about you shut the fudge up now and leave?"
"Fudge? Really? What are you five?"
I stood there gaping at him. How dare he. "No cursing infront of kids. Duh."
"She's slepping." He said in a how-stupid-are-you tone.
"What if she's acting?" I challenged. I never back down.
"Your fucking weird."
I widened my eyes at him and dropped my jaw. Was this little prick insulting my weirdness.
"Hey! Stop it ... you... you idiot!" Not cusring at him was harder than I thought when all I wanted to do was just that. Now I feel pathetic.
"You really know how to cut ass don't you?" He raised an eyebrow at me a smirk curving his lips. amusment flickered through his eyes, the only emotion I saw other then boredem.
That was enough. He was amused. I sure wasn't.
"If we are just going to argue then I think you should leave now."
"Dont worry, I was just leaving." God he is infuriating.
Then go ahead I thought. Leave. I don't even want any conversation with him anymore.
"Ha." I laughed emotionlessly with a sarcastic smile.
Before walking out he turned around wiht a smirk and said, "Make sure you don't stab your toe again. For you own case."
Was he mocking me? That is not funny? With his last remark I closed the door quietly when he was gone so no one else would awaken.
With a sigh, I went over to the balcony, closed the door behind me and welcomed the fresh, but frosty air that cooled me and brushed over my cheeks causing them to be rosy of color. The air also cooled the sweat coating my body. I layed down on the hammock hanging from the balcony on top of me, and put the blanket I brought with me over my legs. Then I just relaxed, hunched my shoulders, slouched my back, and stretched my legs as far as they can go with the blanket. Relaxing felt foreign to me now. I haven't done this in long time. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly watching it turn white in-front of me. To tired to go back to the room, I closed my eyes and let myself slip into a deep sleep where I hoped my demons wouldn't follow.
