I looked over to my brother, he had his faced pressed against the car window looking out to our new home.  Trees amongst an never ending forest was what you could see for miles.  The occasional bump in the road would wake us from our daydreams and remind us of reality.

I hope this time it is going to be different. I know this time it will be different.

I was awoken to the slowing down of the car and then it stopped in front of a house that didn't look like it belonged in this era, there was something about it.

"Kerensa", Conner called out to me. "Hello earth to Kerensa, are you going to just sit there or are you going to help?

"huh? oh right I'm coming keep your pants on."

I slowly step out of the car and head towards the boot, where Conner is getting our suitcases out. I grab the last box and head towards the house where a couple is standing on the veranda waiting.

"Hi" I mumble to them. They seem friendly but I know that they really don't want us hanging around and can not wait for Conner's birthday in a couple of months.

"Let me take that dear, it looks heavy."

"Thanks, but I am fine you don't have to act like you want us to be here."

"We do want you here, I don't understand how such a beautiful girl say that."

"Everyone else didn't want us so what makes you any different?"

"I am you grandma and you are my granddaughter which I adore and have since the day you were born, it is such a tragedy what happened to your parents considering they were going to tell you that.. oh I shouldn't."

"No, please say it nobody has told me, let alone talked to me before."

"Well we were actually going to visit you guys that summer. We have your presents and everything inside if you want to have a look."
