"Sweet Caroline, fuck, fuck, fuck! Good times never seemed so good!" The Branch Tavern on a Friday night was always the cheeriest place to be with everyone having a blast of a time. The regulars were either sitting at the bar or standing around, holding drinks in their hand that had been spilled a couple of times.

Everyone sang along to the familiar tune of Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline and added in a couple of words that were only meant for entertainment here. I was seated behind the bar, my usual spot where I watched and occasionally sang along with the customers. Even though most of them were guys, they were like family to the owners of the tavern.

My co-workers Ashton and Brianna continued leaning against the bar having conversations with the guys who came to see them about refilling their drinks. Next to me was a younger couple who rarely asked for me to grab them a drink as they took their time in finishing them. The woman was a blonde with purple streaks throughout and was snacking on the bag of chips she had gotten.

The jukebox was a popular spot to be at with multiple people standing around it, flicking through the pages to check the songs that is available to be played. It was filled with classic rock, pop and every other genre you could potentially think of. If you wanted a song, it was most probably there.

"(Y/N), could you go and get some more tequila bottles? We're down to our last two and I'm pretty sure it's going to go quickly." Ashton called out slightly swinging the bottle back and forth in his hand. I smiled with a nod and hopped off my chair moving towards the back storage fridge. Heading straight over to the spirits on the shelf immediately eyeing down clear distilled beverage with a tiny hat on top.

Just off the tavern itself is the liquor store that is also owned by the owners and the bell that signified someone was waiting to be served was rung. Tonight was my job to also help run the store meaning I quickly jogged over to it and noticed a person waiting against the wall. As it was a colder night, their black zip-up jacket was thin enough to be a shirt but their hood was propped up.

"Hey there, sorry about the wait but let me just quickly open this up for you. How's your night been so far?" I greeted politely, the keys on my lanyard swinging back and forth until I found the correct one to unlock the store. Making small talk between customers was never really my strong suit until a couple of years ago when my other co-workers helped me with it.

"No, you're okay. I wasn't expecting you to show up that fast but it's going alright, just getting some alcohol for some friends and I." The younger guy answered waving off my apology as I allowed him to step inside to begin browsing for his desired beverages. I was able to palm off the tequila's to Will who was walking past and he agreed to take them back to Ashton.

"Perfect plan, alright just let me know whether you need help or not picking out some drinks." I suggested moving behind the counter to open the register as someone else with their hoodie also propped up strolled in. They made no eye contact with me or the other customer so I couldn't tell what gender they were. I get it though, social anxiety is a bitch sometimes.
