Gathering Blue

Chapter Two

"Acacia! Acacia, wake up! You have 30 minutes to get ready! My mom shouts.

"Okay. Okay, I'm going!" I yell.

I jump up out of bed and rush to my closet and grab the first shirt I find. I grab a black pair of skinny jeans and my white vans. I dash to the bathroom and do my makeup and brush my long hair. I walk down the stairs while singing my favorite tune.

"My dear, cry to when life's unfair. Your voice is the sweetest sound to my ear. Just look to me when-" My brother stops me.

"You sound like a dying whale."

"At least I don't look like one!"

"OOOO you got burned Alex!" My other brother says.

"Screw you Brendon." Alex says.

Brendon hops beside me and does our secret hand shake. I slide over next to my mom and grab a plate and get some breakfast.

"Thanks mom."

She just looks at me.

I walk over to the table and eat my breakfast and check my instagram page. My sister walks down stairs, I'm proud of her. She's finally sober. But she looks like she hasn't slept in over 10 years.

"It's 9:00! Time to go Acacia!" My mom crys.

I put my plate in the sink and grab my phone and purse, then I head out the door into the car. I jump into the front seat and turn 88.7 on. My favorite song is on. My mom pulls out of the driveway.

"Mom, you know how much I love you right?"

"What do you want?"

"Do you have any gum?" I laugh.

"In the door."

I reach for the door and grab the gum out. It's mint so it's a plus plus for me. I forgot to brush my teeth but luckily my teeth are naturally white. Acacia lives 2 blocks away so I doesn't take long to get there. She parks on the side of the street and I get out and run to the door.

I knock 3 times. Taylor's mom opens the door.

"Hello miss Johnson. Is Taylor ready?"

"Yep."

She turns around and yells upstairs.

"Taylor! Acacia is here!
