05📸 The Deal is done

A most bizarre sight was seen in the CEO's office. To say Taehyun and others were shocked, was an understatement. Y/n was dressed like a bride in a torn white dress. Beside her Jay was the groom. But as the explanation of the situation ensued, it all became clear. Taehyun looked at Y/n, she was a living embodiment of happiness, radiating sunshine and confidence. She can attract anybody's attention and let some of her confidence glaze over them. Looking at her made him feel like wishing on a dandelion. Hope and pure joy. But now she looked defeated. Like she came to a dead end.He was shaken from his trance when she spoke.
"I'll do it."
"Do what?"
Soobin asked confused. Y/n let out a sigh and gave a shaky smile.
She looked directly at Bang PD.
"I'll fake date Taehyun. But I have few conditions. "
"What are those?"
She took a breath and looked resolute.
"Interview me for the job of a designer."
Bang-PD smiled reassuringly.
"Of course."
She let out the breath she was holding back.
"Um.. sir can I talk with Y/n?"
Taehyun asked him but his eyes were on her. Trying to gauge her reaction. She nodded slightly to show she agreed.
"Definitely. "
He gestured towards the door, Y/n following.

Taehyun walked towards their rehearsal room. He slumped down on the floor. He glanced at Y/n who was staring at the room.
"See, I know we don't know each other at all but I can say you didn't want to do this. I mean I understand why you didn't want to. But I need to know if you are alright. So...... are you okay?"
Y/n looked at him for quite long time before sighing.
"Honestly?"
Taehyun nodded. He didn't want her to hide her problems from him. Yeah they were faking but that didn't mean she needed to fake her feelings and thoughts around him.

Y/n was feeling tired. It was such an eventful day. But then Taehyun said those words. She felt her close guarded walls melt a little. She was tired of keeping it all in. A little rant shouldn't hurt. Right?
"I'm not fine at all. Don't worry it's not because of the deal. I'm just tired of it all. I don't want to be a chess piece in his big game. I have my passion. All I want is to be able to pursue my career in fashion. Is that too much to ask?"
And by the end, tears were running down her face, glistening like diamonds. There she said it. She didn't dare look at Taehyun's face, lest she should see pity.

But pitying her was far from his thoughts. All he could see was a warrior returning from war, half her weight. His face shone with concern. Pulling her close came naturally.

It was a big step for them. Letting her know he would be there. Letting him in on her struggles. Big stepping stones. Paving a path.

Weeks whizzed by.... Y/n gave an interview and was hired. She was contentedly working. Rumours flew about her getting a job because she was Taehyun's girlfriend. But it never fazed her. She would prove her worth and talent. She was a big believer of the saying "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me".

Y/n raised her chin high, ignoring the side eye glances and subtle glares. As she walked out of the building, she saw her 'boyfriend'
walking towards her while waving. She immediately painted her face with a swooning smile and gave a practised giggle when he wrapped her in his arms. Taehyun wasn't bad himself. He knew the exact place where the paparazzi would be waiting. He chose a slightly shadowed area which would indicate that they were trying to hide.
"Congrats on the new job."
"Thanks. I'll be there with you guys in the next meeting."
Taehyun pulled away from the hug, holding her hand.
"So you would design our attire for next comeback?"
Y/n let out a small smile while intertwining their hands. This small action sent a jolt through Taehyun.
"Yes.... so I need to know about the concept you guys are putting up."
"I'm glad. So will you go out with me this Sunday?"
Y/n flinched slightly at the rush of butterflies in her stomach at his words.
"Yeah..."
Taehyun smiled, showing his cute canines. Annnddd... this made
Y/n's stomach do a backflip.

Sighing, Y/n tossed her phone aside. Chemistry, huh? Wow.. she and Taehyun must be amazing actors fooling everybody... Maybe she should think about an acting career.

But right now she decided she needed to get ready for the first 'date' with Taehyun. She was surprised to find herself excited at the idea.

Taehyun was humming to himself while buttoning his shirt.
The date he planned was very strategic. The restaurant had amazing food and view. Sitting near the window would also attract those paparazzi.

But all he could think about was spending time with Y/n. He was eager to spend time with Y/n. She was so interesting to talk to. With a good sense of humor and easygoing manner of talking, Y/n always captured his entire attention. Plus, he was curious about her look today. He liked the way she dressed but today was more special as it was their 'date'.
