I feel bad for being such a prick earlier, Maya actually seems pretty .
We sit in traffic getting to know each other when one of my dad's songs comes on the radio .

"Tjay you been through alot haven't you ?" May looks at me out of nowhere .

"Watchu mean shaw ?"

"Ugh i told you not to call me that ," she rolls her eyes but i can see the smile she's trying so hard to hide " dont change the topic ,"

"I mean yeah but how can you tell ?" I say lowly.

"All your songs have something deep in them ," she sighs as if wishing she never brought it up , cant believe i invited this shordy i just recently met to the studio but her boyfriend tripping and i just wanna show ha a good time thats all ,"

"I wrote a love song once , well im writing one," i laugh kind of wishing i kept that to myself.

"Oh really? It was one line , dnt guve yrself too much credit ," she rolls her eyes , i really annoy her sometimes , i guess im doing my job as her whatever i am right .

"Come here ," i say deeper than i meant to inviting May to stand closer to where i sat on the table .

I pull her close to me and she starts to back away a bit not knowing whats going on , but i look her dead in the eye and hold her by the waist to keep her from moving .

" I aint never found love until i looked into your eyes , first time blushin i aint even wanna lie ," i say quietly but loud enough for her to hear, whatever i just felt she felt it too cause shes blushing like crazy .
She turns away probably trying to hide her blush .

Ive never blushed because of any girl before , not even my ex Jasmine and i thought i really loved her , but i got respect for whoever the nigga dating this girl is , i aint finna make any moves even if i wanted to .

"This is mood swings right ?" Maya asks and i nod in response.

"Damn he must have really loved your mom , these are some very detailed lyrics ,"

"They didn't even know each other that long ," i shrug wanting to change the topic .

"You dont believe in soulmates ," she enquires and i just shake my head .

"You dont think that its possible to love someone after a short period of time ? " she laughs

"Yall literature students messed up for real ," he smiles as her phone rings again

"Offcourse i wanna cuddle , but only if i get to choose the movie ," she smiles . "Yeah yeah i love you too stink now lemme drive in peace ,"

Whatever they have seems to have been going on for a while , i find it weird but whatever is making them happy doesn't really affect me in anyway .

I feel my phone buzz in my pocket and this time its my turn to pick up and its my mom .
"I thought i said you had to be home by curfews?"

"Im sorry momma , my car broke down and theres mad traffic right now ,"

"Excuses, just like your daddy ," she sighs "bye baby i love you "

" i love you too momma," i say hanging up . You know sometimes its weird being compared to someone who you've never even met before .

"Must be hard being compared to someone youve never even met ," Maya says as if reading my mind .

"I mean yeah , ik he was a good guy but i cant really make an opinion for myself cause i dont know him , i wish he were here thougj ," i sigh as traffic starts to ease up .

"Its nice to see a guy open up , it shows me your still human too ," she laughs trying to ease the tension
