As the students filed into the ISS room, we were each assigned a desk. We took our seats silently, while the teacher explained to the ISS teacher what happened.

I knew him, luckily. His name was Mr. Wraithe, and he was known to be the laziest teacher in the school. He nodded his head as our teacher was talking, but I know it was going from one ear out the other.

Finally, the teacher left the room.

"Alright, you know the drill," Wraithe started, "Just put your heads down and sleep while I eat ramen without you."

At this, some students actually went to sleep. I knew better that if you sleep on a desk, you get a big red spot on your forehead. Besides, I still had Tamina-san to talk to! "Tamina-san!" I poke her in the back and she slowly looks over to me.

"Did you need something?" she asks.

"No, I just wanted to talk. I've nothing better to do."

"Well, I'm a little busy working on this drawing. It's almost finished though, see?" There appears to be a burrito with a bunch of space-stuff inside.

"Well, what is it supposed to be?"

"It's an everything burrito. It literally contains everything including itself! Also, anything you alter inside it will change in this world!"

I find myself scratching my head and simultaneously trying to wrap it around this thing. "How in the world do you come up with that?"

"Well, it wasn't my idea. It's a request from one of my friends actually."

"Gyuuh!" I shriek as I feel a pair of hands grab my shoulders. As I whip around in my seat though, I realize it's only Takuro.

"Watcha girls doin' over here?" he asks, leaning over me and looking at Moi's drawing. "Looks like something Storm would come up with."

I vaguely remember who that is, but I know that he's a big goofball, just like Takuro. "Why are you over here anyway Takuro?" Tamina-san asks.

"Well, I'm bored and kinda lonely, so I thought I'd drop by. I was also curious about the sheeple you found. Have you told the paranormal group yet?"

Paranormal group? Both Takuro and Tamina-san are a part of it? "No, I haven't told them yet. Miyouko here still needs to get her story straight..."

Moi's glare forces me to respond, so I pull out a fast lie, "Well, it was really nothing. I uh... caught some kids um... strapping a bomb to it." For the moment, they seem to believe it.

"See, there was nothing to report after all."

"Yeah, but what if the kids were possessed? One does not simply blow up a sheep for fun."

"It's not worth holding a criminal investigation to find out if there really was a ghost!"

"Maybe it was a demon instead. Why don't we get Ayano on it and we'll-"

"Knock it off, both of you!" Wraithe yells, "Just leave it lone and let me eat ramen in peace!"

Thankfully, they drop it, and I let out a big sigh. I didn't want anyone else involved in this demon business. That was between me and Soma, and no one else. "No fun," Takuro mutters, taking a seat next to me.

"It's only no fun when you're around," Moi adds. "There is a reason we don't bring you on investigations."

"Whatever, I hear Rena's planning something big in a few months, so we'll see."

I had no idea what Takuro meant by that, but I hoped neither him nor Tamina-san got any more involved with demons...

----------

Another thirty minutes passed and the bell rang. Quickly, students began filing out of the tiny classroom, while Moi, Takuro, and I waited for them to pass.

When the coast was finally clear, we started for the door.

"Hold on, you three."

Mr. Wraithe was in the way. "W-What do you need?" I asked.

He pulled all of us close. "You need to listen closely now. Takuro, Moi, you have to leave, with me."

"Um... What about me, eh?"

"You have to stay here." He cleared his throat. "Let's go."

"Why do we have to-"

"Just trust me, and don't do anything stupid. Keep a level head, Miyouko. Make sure you get back safe."

As Wraithe left the room with Tamina-san, I was left alone. Why was he acting so suspicious? He interrupted Takuro when he mentioned demons, and he's saying 'get back safe' now?!

The doorknob turned quickly, and I jumped in my seat. The door swung open slowly. It was my teacher, Mr. Rangurren.

"Ah, good thing John remembered to tell you."

"W-What was it that you needed?"

"Oh, don't worry, it's nothing much." His hands moved to the door and locked it. "Just an errand, really."

"Of course..." I was really worried. After the things I've seen and heard, who knew what I might be thrown into next? Everyone was acting weird, what was about to happen?

"Now, let me disclose a few things to you. Might as well, right? Let's start with the obvious. Care to take a guess? I know you're smart enough."

There was something very wrong with him. Where was his usual sarcasm? Where was that cheery air? The man standing at the door was not my teacher. He was cold, calculating, and he had something in store for me... "You aren't... You aren't human, are you."

"Hmm, it's hard to get any more obvious than that. Care to be a little more specific?"

"You're a demon."

"Keep going."

"You want to kill me, don't you?"

"Bingo. Think you can guess why?"

I thought for a minute... Why were demons attacking me in the first place? Did I have some sort of karmic destiny attached to me? "Is it Soma?"

The demon laughed, but his creepy wide smile faded. "No, I don't need to worry about little Soma. Like the rest of his traitorous kind, he'll die like a dog either way. No, the matter of a certain Miyouko Areshi is far more important."

"What's so important about me, eh? Soma's the demon hunter, not me!" I was starting to get a little annoyed at it. Why did demons always have to beat around the bush?

"The reason you're so important... Is because you are a threat. I don't think I want to tell you why just yet though... kuhuhuhu..." The demon started to contort and transform just as the sheep had, growing huge muscles and sprouting horns all over his body.

It took the form of a massive bull. I got up from my seat, staring it straight in the eye.

It was time to fight.
