Apparently, I was more tired than I thought, as I fell asleep quickly on top of Soma. When I woke up Sunday morning, he was still there, and I smiled and almost fell back asleep...
Until someone knocked on the door. Soma didn't budge, so I grudgingly made my way across the living room and opened the door. "Oh, Tamina-san! What are you doing here?"
My lavender-haired friend took one peek in the door, and I had to silence her before she made some smart remark. "Has anything happened yet?" she asked excitedly.
I hid in my scarf. "Well... Something did happen..." I wasn't about to tell her what exactly happened, so I thought carefully about my next words. "...I'm having doubts about Soma."
Moi looked like her child just died. "Wha... What do you mean?! You were head over heels for him!"
"I know! But... he's been strange. There's a lot going on, and I think I just have to wait until everything calms down."
Luckily, she seemed to take that as an answer. "Well, if you need any help, I'd be happy. I still ship it, you know."
I felt some consolation at that at least. "Do you want to come inside? It's about time for breakfast I think." I showed her to the living room while I started some eggs. Honestly, I had almost no experience cooking, so I only hoped I could get it right...
"Do you two live here alone?" Moi asks in a quiet voice, to not wake Soma.
"Well, yeah..." I tell her, "Soma took me in, and his parents..." It might not be best to talk about that with him asleep. "Did you know he built this house himself?"
"Wooow! That's pretty impressive!"
"Yeah, it is..." Maybe there was some hope left if I was able to marvel at him like before.
"Hey, how's Cole?"
The question came out of the blue. No one had even mentioned him yet. "Him and Soma aren't getting along. I haven't seen him today."
"Ah. You know, he's pretty cool. I was actually wondering if he was single..." I felt like I should tell her that Cole probably has a crush on me, but I held my tongue. I should have broken her heart to keep her out of this mess. "...If it doesn't work out with Soma after all, I want you to go out with him."
"Cole? Well..." I didn't have a reason to say no. He had stuck up for me, and really did care for me. "I'll think about it."
In that moment, I saw Soma sitting up on the couch. "What's this about... Cole?" he asks groggily.
I jump around, almost flinging breakfast, "It's nothing!" I quickly replied, "Um, do you want some eggs? Tamina-san is here as well."
He looked over and vaguely recognized our guest. "Ah, hello..." Moi waved somewhat shyly at him. "And I would like some breakfast, please..."
I was actually preparing extra eggs anyway, since I knew he'd be awake. "You seem tired. Are you all right after last night?"
"Ooh," Moi butts in, "What happened last night?"
"...Cole and I had a fight. It's fine," Soma answers, "I'm fine."
It wasn't fine, I thought, but kept it to myself. At this time, I dished up breakfast and everyone gave thanks. "We should invite Cole over," Moi suggests. "I don't want everyone fighting all the time."
"I don't want him over."
"You have to Soma, or you guys will only keep fighting."
Tamina-san had some point. Cole and Soma would only stew over me more when separate. Also, Moi and I are here, so we can make sure nothing goes wrong. "Soma, please let him back," I plead.
