ZAHARIA WOKE UP LATER THAN USUAL,

but was excited as today would be her first day as a professional NBA player. She almost instantly called her manager in excitement, who answered on the 2nd ring with a happy tone in her voice. "Zia! You’re all ready, they have your locker all done, your jerseys have been measured perfectly. Welcome to Golden State."

It was practically music to her ears hearing Karla say that. The fact that she just woke up one day with the opportunity to sign the contract of a lifetime formed this feeling of excitement and nervousness inside of her belly that wouldn’t go away. 3 days ago, the young girl had signed a $60,000 dollar, 10-day contract with the warriors. They had made it very clear that if they thought her playing style would fit into their chemistry, she could be looking at a 3 year 5 million dollar contract.  Zaharia began squirming in her bedsheets, squealing like a little kid on Christmas.

"When do I have to be there?" Was the only question she managed to leave her lips. Well if the game started at 7, she would need to arrive at 5 for the normal pregame routine. But as a newbie, she would have to greet the team, right?  "-pick me up at 4."

Zaharia finished her train of thought before Karla had the time to think. Karla hated being late, and would have Zia at the arena at 12pm for no reason. "It’s Gary Payton’s birthday tomorrow, They want you to meet them for a dinner. Fancy dress and tux typa day. Dress nice."

Was Karla saying that Zia dressed like a bum 75% of the time? Yes. Was Karla correct? Yes. "Ouch, man. Alright. I can tell you’re just irking to get me ready so go ahead and come over whenever. I need to go, bye kk."

It was now around 10 am and Zaharia needed to get her life together. She had planned to clean her bedroom and go grocery shopping before she had to go the night before.

But right now, all Zia wanted to do was wash her face. She quickly hopped out of bed, a string of thoughts forming in her head. Some people would think this is some sort of crazy joke, some people may be proud.

Zaharia walked over to her bathroom where she washed her face. She was so nervous, maybe childish but true, she was scared she’d be considered short on the court.

Well usually, Zia would play power forward with a hidden jumper, but now she couldn’t, due to her lack to guard some of the larger players. But how could you blame her?

Any player 2-5 was well over 6’4. Yes, Zaharia Rahomes was an absolute dog on defense. But she would be better off as an outside defender, as herself and her coaches were scared she’d get injured in the paint.
