Chapter 10: New Town folk, New items

It was the next day, I was in the forge room, I decide, why not release some stress, I looked here the grinder, and saw a weird machine, I taped it, and it had a screen that said: Instead blade to find what issues are in blade
S: "Hmm. That's nifty."
I put a round of W1 iron into the forge, pulled it out, and started using the hammer on it.
I went with a weapon call a karambit.
About a few hours later, I was able to get the Karambit done and the handle for it. Looked something like this.

It was a Iron Damascus Steel Karambit with Cow Bone Handle.
It was a bitch to make, but it was amazing.
I walked out the forged with the karambit in my hand. And I went to my shop and put it on display, with a sign saying, coming soon.
I sat at the shop, and saw 4 people walking down the road.
I walked out my house, to sit down on the porch.
The people saw the house and walked over to it.
I pressed a button that signaled the King's Assitent down.
One of the people spoke, he has a small Russian accent.
"Hello there sir, my name is Nikolai, me and my comrads are looking for place called Blockingham."
(N, Ja, D, and K will be Nikolai, Jason, Davis and Kat.)
N: "Oh, and people's with me are Jason, Davis, and Kats."
S: "Well, it's nice to meet all of you, um I am the blacksmith of Blockingham, my name is Sky, over there is Blockingham, I have notified the King's assistant of your presences, and he should be here.. now."
The assistant showed up and saw the new people.
Cpt. Price was with him.
A: "Ah, good day you 4. I am the King's assistant, who might you three be."
N: "This is Kats, Davis, and Jason. My name is-"
Cpt: "Nikolai?"
N: "Ah, Cpt. Price, good to see you."
I shook hand will all 4 of them.
S: "If you 4 need any like weapons, tools or other things, just come to me, as long as you have enough currency."
The Assitent guided all 4 of the new folk to the palace to meet the king.
I went back inside my shop, and opened the window to the shop.
Cpt: "So, I heard you have a forge now, is that right?"
S: "Yea. It was my reward for the trip, and when we're there, I found material that I can turn into handle material. So, I will be making a lot more stuff soon, but this is the first item I've made in the forge."
I put down the karambit I made just a few mins ago.
Cpt: "Wow, that's a beaut right there. How long it take?"
S: "Surprisingly, a good 15 mins."
Cpt: "Wow. That's amazing for a start."
I look over, and see 4 more new people.
S: "Hey Price, when I tell you, hit this button to signal down the assistant."
He nodded and did so.
The 4 people walked over to the shop.
S: "Hello, you 4 must also be new to Blockingham."
(W, Da, Do, and Ja is Will, Dave, Doug, and Jay)
W: "Actually, we are looking for a Skytbm Swales aka Sky."
S: "That is me."
I walked out of my shop, and had my forge Karambit in my hand."
W: "We heard that you were the blacksmith of this palace."
S: "Yes indeed. I've made alot of stuff, including," I reach into my shop pulled out. "A Kar98k."
W: "Wow. That's amazing."
S: "Yeah, and before we continue talking, what are your names?"
W: "Oh, how rude, my name is Will Willis, I runa show called 'Forged in fire' and these are the expert judges on the show, ABS Mastersmith, Jay Neilson, Historic Weapon Re-creation smith, Dave Baker, and Kali Marshal Artist, Doug Marcaida."
S: "Well, it's nice meet you all."
Doug looked at my hand, and saw the karambit.
Do: "Mine if I take a look at your karambit there?"
S: "Go ahead."
I hand the karambit to Doug, he discussed with Dave, Will and Jay about my Karambit.
Cpt: "Well, Imma head back to the palace, call us down if any trouble happens."
I nodded.
Price went back to the palace as they were still talking.
Je: "Hey Sky, who are these people?"
I look back, and saw Jess.
S: "Oh, Hey Jess, these were some people that heard about me, and are now looking at a karambit I made just a few mins ago."
Je: "Oh, Cool."
She gave me a quick kiss, then I went back to the 4 people.
Do: "I have to say, this is one of the most unique and beautiful karambits I've ever seen."
Ja: "I agree, what was the process into this."
S: "I went for a Damascus Steel out of a rusty iron that I cleaned up to make the Karambit with Cow Bone Handle."
Da: "Very interesting design for a Karambit, How long did it take this?"
S: "A good 15 mins."
They were all shocked.
S: "My forge is over there is wanna take a look."
They all nodded, Jess came put and we all went to the garage that had my forge.
I turn on the light.
W: "Wow, Not bad."
S: "Yeah. It was a trade from another palace."
They all looked around, and Dave saw the machine that was next to the grinder.
Da: "I've seen all these machines before, but," points at the machine. "What is that??"
S: "Oh. Well, come with me."
They all watched me make a blade that has no quench, no nothing.
S: "So, what this machine is, it's pretty much a cheat to where. If I have any issues on my blade, it will show me what they are, where they are, and what to do to fix it."
They all were in amazement.
W: "Can you show us, how it works?"
I open the hatch and put the knife in the hatch.
S: "So now if I hit start," in a half second, the screen had the issues on it. "it will show what issue I have with my blade."
Do: "That's a really cool. It's like having an automatic judge."
S: "Yeah, so on this billet I made just now, it says that I have, cracks, delamination, and other stuff."
I pointed at the screen.
Da: "Oh that's cool."
S: "And if I tape the delams, it shows 3. One is from the forge, Two is from water, and three is from my hammer."
Da: "Oh yeah I see that."
S: "But, if I take out the quick made blade, then put in the Rapier I made before this forge."
The machine showed issues in the handle, but blade was find.
Ja: "So, there are issues in the handle, probably cause you have used it before or someone has. But the blade is completely fine."
S: "Yeap. It surprised me when they returned it."
I let then look at the blade.
They saw the hand as well.
Da: "Oh yeah. That handle is fucked. I don't thing birch wood, is a good handle choice, without something to hold it in place."
S: "It's what they wanted."
W: "Well, we are gonna come back in 20 months, we wanna see how much progress you have made, and if we see alot for progress, we might wanna invite you to our show. Until then, we will see you in 20 months."
I shook hands with all of then, then they left to where ever they came from.
Me and Jess agreed to each of us working on specific parts of the weapons and tools. I make the base aka The metal of the weapon and tool, she makes the handle of the weapon and tool.
We started of by making a 3 different things, a basic iron sword out of a rusty iron, a battle axe made out of W1 round stock Damascus, and a Russian Dagger made out of Novosibirsk Tin Works.
We had references photos from the forging book we got from the library.
Ad I worked out the weapons, Jess worked on the handles in a style she think would fit each of them best.
A good 2 hours later, all the weapons had there respective handles,

They don't look exactly like the pictures, but they were still perfect, and easy to complete.
After that, we decided for the next 18 months to just make weapons and tools out of the materials, in the last 2 months. We time ourselves how long it takes to make each weapon and tool.
Then next 2 months. We just relax, and decided to sell most of the weapons and tools that we made.
That last month, I found a book at the library that was interesting.
