Piper

I look at my watch.

"Fuck, it's very late.", I think as I jump out of bed.

I sit down and take some time to think.

After closing the place last night I was forced to call a taxi, and thank goodness I didn't have to wait long.

"Alex ...", I suddenly think of her.

Our hands had touched each other, then we'd looked into each other's eyes for endless minutes.

"But how to interpret all this?", I ask myself.

I put on my slippers and run to the kitchen to make breakfast. Shortly after I am already in the shower, I let the water run over me: I would stay like this for hours.

I get dressed, I wear a black T-shirt with fluorescent writing and wide stretch trousers; I put on the converse and leave the house.

On the way I call Jack, I didn't have a chance to talk to him yesterday.

"Hi Jack, listen, yesterday I signed the documents and so ...",

He interrupts me.

"You're leaving, right?", He asks me sadly.

'No, I didn't say that. But I won't be able to work in the morning anymore. ", I reassure him.

"Fine then. Even better, you will take care of closing every night. ", He says closing the conversation.

"Very well.", I think, "I hope I don't have to take a taxi every night."

Soon after, I'm at university. I stop at the front door, take a red Chesterfield out of the pack and smoke it in peace.

"Do you have one for me too?", Kira asks me coming out from nowhere.

"Hi, sure.", I answer, taking a cigarette out of the pack and handing it to her.
"Would you also have to light up? ", she continues.

I hand her the lighter but it doesn't light up.

I approach her and with one hand I protect the flame of the lighter.

"Thanks.", she says looking me in the eye.

We lie for a while in silence.

So? What do you think of Dr. Vause? ", He asks me shortly after.

"Well ... I think she's good.", I answer embarrassed.

"Come on ... I know you like it. Look, I'm not telling anyone. ", she says, patting me on the shoulder.

I get all red in the face.

"But how do you think of it!", I exclaim, "absolutely not."

"I see how you look at it.", she continues.

"You're wrong.", I reply.

"But you haven't repudiated the idea that you might like a woman. So ... do you like women? "

Her questions begin to hurt me deeply.

"Listen, I don't know, okay? I don't have a favorite gender, I take whatever comes. "

"Excellent philosophy of life", she says smiling at me.

I have had enough, I put out my cigarette and go inside.

I take the brochure out of the bag.

"Wednesday - room 12", I read.

I make up my mind trying to remember where this room 12 is.
