☽ Dream, Ivory-Dream, Ivory ☾
The swift autumn breeze hits me as I walk along the leaf covered sidewalks. I notice all the different colors on each leaf, and how beautiful they become when they mix together in a pile. Interupting my observations, I feel a faint vibration coming from my black puffer jacket's pocket. I reach to grab it, noticing a missed call from mom.
I sigh as I go to call her back, and she answers right away. "George! thank god. You need to come home soon and pack, we have to leave tommorow." She says with a strange tone of excitement. Georges eyes that were once widely open were now almost shut closed in annoyance. "Okay.. I'm on my way." I walk back towards my house, the breeze now becoming more strong, and my brown fluffy hair with white sunglasses resting ontop starts to blow along with the breeze. I place my hands in my pockets and let out a sigh.
-Next morning-
The noise some people can make at 6:30 in the morning is quite annoying. I reach into my backpack placed next to me and grab my earbuds and as i place them in my ear, I turn on the song, "Bloom Later" by Jesse. This song brings back memories as him and Dream had always listened to this together, but George ignores it. I go to adjust my leg so it would sit ontop my other leg, when my flight is called. (idk how airports work sorry if its wrong lmao).
My mom quickly bounces up in from her seat, her brown curls bouncing with her. She was dressed in a floral dress that flowed to her ankles, and had a slit along her left leg, that followed up to her upper thigh. She had natural but beautiful makeup on her face, almost like she was trying to impress my dad.
I follow my mom on the plane, and find my seat near a window. The window seats were always my favorite when traveling, they make me feel calm. I take a deep breath as I pull down my sleeping mask as the attendants walk around offering snacks and drinks to everyone.
"fuck me." I mutter quietly under my breath as i fully take in what we were doing.
-arrives at fathers home-
The moon shines amongst George's dad's house, and it shines with bad memories. The bright light from the moon is enough to show their way to the door, after following the long driveway after exiting their uber. My mom gives a wave to the uber as he drives away into the night. I give my mom a slight side eye, showing her my nervousness.
"Oh honey it's gonna be okay, I promise" She says.
Promise? A word I truly hate. My old friends made promises, and broke them. My father made a promise once, a promise that he would accept me for everything, and broke that. Dream made a promise. He made a promise we would be friends forever, no matter what. That we would talk everyday, until death do us part.
"Sure, right." I turn my back and continue up the hill, my luggage tugging behind.
A bright yellow light shines amongst the front porch as my father opens the front door, his figure being outlined by the light inside.
"Would you look at that!" He let out a laugh. My mom and I stood there and before we could say anything,
"Well, come inside then. I knew you two wouldn't last long without my support." He moves his back against the open door and with grace, swings his arm while motioning for us to go inside. I follow the movement of his arm and enter the place I grew up in.
It looked the same. The same old people smell it always had, with a long black leather couch and a deer head hung from the very top of the brick fireplace in the middle of the room.
I always hated that deer head. Creeped me out.
"Your father and I are going to catch up on everything in the kitchen, George, please, make yourself comfortable in your room and get everything set up." She sends a smirk my way.
"It's hard to be comfortable here but okay" My dad sends me a glare.
"Don't start with this, you'll only make things worse in the long run." My dad says as he closes the door, the cold air exiting the room, only to be wifted with the strong scent of the house. I roll my eyes and wander upstairs. I find the door of my old room, the door covered in stickers of trucks and cars. I smile and softly chuckle as i enter my room. The first thing that comes to my eye is the poloroids of Dream and I still taped onto my wall. I decide not to focus on that.
"Damn this layout is horrible." I say to myself.
I open the dark blue curtains covering the one window in my room. This window was special, it was a window that had a seat in it, and it faced towards Dream's house, and to his room window. I kneel down on the soft cusion in the window and drop my backpack on the floor, admirring Dream's house. Dream's room window was covered, and some part of him wished he was there, looking back.
Some part of me misses him. a lot.
