Morning Stakeout

The next morning, you got up at the same time and got ready to go to the coffee shop. You chose your outfit a little more carefully and made sure to add some soft curls to your hair. If you were to see this angelic smile man again, you wanted to look more decent than when he first saw you. You quickly grabbed your laptop and bag and headed for the door.

It was six in the morning again and you got your coffee and sat at the same table again. You opened your laptop to not look too out of place. You often scanned outside the windows to see if you could see anyone approaching. Soon, someone was heading towards the coffee shop.

The front door dinged, and a tall, thin man walked in. Your shoulders fell as you saw it wasn't him. This man had long, black curly hair. You snuck a peek at this new guy, he was stunning as well. 'What the heck, do only gorgeous men come into this place?' You wondered to yourself, mentally noting to come to this location daily now. This new guy patiently waited, looking around the shop carefully. His gaze fell on you for half a second before he looked elsewhere.

"Van Gogh?" The cashier yelled out, almost laughing at the ridiculous name. The thin man walked up to the counter and took a cup holder filled with six cups. "Thank you." He politely said with such a deep voice that it surprised you. His voice was like the opposite of the guy from yesterday. He quickly left and you shook your head to yourself. 'Six coffees again? That couldn't be a coincidence, right? ' You would definitely have to come back again tomorrow.

You drank your coffee and had been hit with inspiration. You began typing. You wrote about a coffee shop that sat between different dimensions. Where only beautiful men attended it. You quickly backspaced the idiotic idea and closed the laptop.

You went to leave and briefly stopped at the front counter. The cashier looked at you expectantly. "Never mind." You murmured and left. You were going to ask the lady if the man who was here yesterday came often, but you decided to just go home and share your disappointment with Anna.

"He wasn't there?" She half pouted. She was visibly disappointed. You told her about the other beautiful man who came in instead but got the same number of coffees. "Shoot, I need to come with you next time. I'm looking for a gorgeous man." She snickered. "But six coffees again? I don't think that's just a random number, maybe they know one another." Anna had come to the same conclusion as you.

After getting ready for bed, you crawled under the covers and tried to remember the angelic smile you saw yesterday. You sighed to yourself and turned over. Maybe it was for the best that you never saw him again. He was so out of your league that he was on another planet entirely. After some insecurities, you slipped into slumber.

The next day you did the same routine. Got ready to be a creep and stake out this coffee shop. You chose another cute outfit and did your hair the same. You hoped for a better outcome this time. You arrived at the shop and the smell of fresh coffee hit your nose as you walked in. You took a deep breath admiring this deliciously calming smell and ordered your usual caramel macchiato. You took a seat at your usual table and got your laptop out yet again. But didn't type, you only looked out the windows expecting what, you weren't sure.

You were knocked out of your zoned out state when the front door dinged like it usually did. Your heart sped up instantly when you saw the beautiful blonde man again. You swallowed hard when you saw him. You tried to make yourself small and wanted to stay hidden while you observed him. He was more casually dressed today. A blue fuzzy sweater, a white t-shirt, and black jeans again. He was so beautiful he didn't even have to try. Casually stunning.

Watching, you observed him pull out his phone and he scrolled through it

Watching, you observed him pull out his phone and he scrolled through it. The cashier had gone to grab his order. He began humming and quietly singing to himself. Your eyes widened; his voice was so lovely. It was such a sweet, soft sound. He obviously didn't know you were staring or listening to him. You smoothed out your hair and got up to approach him.

"Hello again." You said sweetly, offering a smile as you walked up to him. He was startled but composed himself. "Hi." He said smiling his perfect smile again. "I wanted to thank you again for yesterday, that was very nice of you to help me out. You didn't have to do that." He chuckled to himself remembering how you fell. "No problem, I couldn't just stand there." He smiled with his eyes. "Well, thanks again anyway....?" You held out your hand for him to shake and waited for him to give you his name. "Jimin." He smiled again and shook your hand. 'Perfect name for a perfect human being.' You said in your head.

The cashier returned with yet again a cup holder full of six coffees. "Let me pay for your order as a thank you." You insisted but he shook his head and free hand. "No, no, it's already paid for, plus that isn't necessary!" You heart shrank inside your chest. "How is this gorgeous man so sweet?"

You looked around and noticed freshly baked donuts. "Well let me buy you a donut at least. Please?" You were practically begging at this point. He nodded with a big smile. "Okay." You quickly bought the donut and held it to him with a napkin around it. He looked at his full hands and then looked around. You looked at him puzzled. "Just put it in my mouth." He laughed opening up his mouth. You raised your eyebrows in surprise and slowly lifted the donut to his mouth. He took it between his teeth and gave you a smile around it. "Thamphs!" He muffled out around the donut and walked out of the door.

You couldn't help but blush to yourself as he left. That was entirely too adorable. You watched him leave and crawl into a black SUV that was parked right outside. After the car pulled away, you felt sad again. That had been such a quick exchange. You wanted to know more about him. 'Jimin. Why are you so perfect? It's suspicious.' You concluded in your head. You sighed and gathered your things to go home.

"His name is Jimin." You told Anna about the newest encounter. She clapped her hands at the development. "He's so sweet!" You gushed further and Anna smiled bigger at you. "Ask for his number or something next time! You won't know your chances if you don't try!"

Anna was always so reassuring and supportive. She was a wonderful friend. "Did you finish your paper yet?" She asked, changing the subject. You gave her an apologetic look. This Jimin stakeout has been taking up all your free mornings. "Go work on that now!" Anna pointed to your room. She meant well; you knew that. You took your laptop to your room and forced yourself to begin writing your paper.

You titled your paper "Love at the Coffee Shop." You were going to write from experience, it's how all your best pieces had been formed. You wanted to touch on the astronomical chances of finding your soulmate at a coffee shop. And how destiny played a part in our lives, and if it was even real. Your piece was going to be more rhetorical and philosophical. But it was a start. You quickly spilled out thousands of words before it was time to head to class.

You were zoning out in class. Why did your thoughts have to keep going back to coffee shop Jimin? You could not shake the idea that he looked somewhat familiar. This wasn't some cheesy line; you could have sworn you've seen him before. But you couldn't place where or when. The thought was really bothering you.

"There will be a test tomorrow on chapters 10-20, so look over your study guides." The professor warned and released the class. You met Anna outside of the university and decided to grab some dinner before heading back home.

You both had some ramen and went back to your apartment. "Don't stay up late dreaming of your crush!" Anna teased as she went to her room to go to bed. You decided to do the same. If you were to go to the coffee shop again you needed to be up early.

Much to your disappointment, Jimin wasn't there. Thursday a short, skinny guy with cold, expressionless eyes picked up the six coffees. He was stunning too, if not a little scary looking. "What the actual hell. Are these guys pouring out of some portal where only beautiful men live?'  You scoffed at the ridiculous thought.

Friday you had your hopes up again, only to be dissatisfied. This time it was a very tall man, who was more muscular. His hair was parted on the side and combed backwards. When he thanked the cashier with a smile, you caught a glimpse of a dimple. 'Okay, gorgeous again. Where are these guys coming from?!' You thought this was getting out of hand.

That was four absolutely stunning men coming to pick up six coffees. 'Four out of six. Who's missing? Maybe the other two are ugly.' You laughed to yourself and went back home. Maybe next week.
