While walking to the next town Killua slowly closed the distance between you by walking closer to you. After a while of silence Killua slows down to a stop.

"Don't answer if it's to personal but who were those guys and why were they after you?" Asked Killua with a serious look on his face

"Well it's not really a secret or anything but I ran away from home." You said trying to sound as casual as possible.

Killua looked at you seriously and don't move a muscle as if waiting for you to continue

" it's one question at a time Killua, it's my turn now" you said with a teasing smile on your face as you turned forward and began walking agin

Watching your back get farther away Killua begins walking and eventually catches up when you reach the top of a small hill. Seeing you trip over some pebble Killua swiftly catches you and holds your hand tight without letting go.

" let's go" Killua said as he began walking still not loosening his grip

" k-Killua um... Thank you for saving me again." You said shyly

" don't thank me idiot. Were friends and friends don't thank each other." Killua said embarrassed without looking back.

"Killua"

"Mm.."

" are you embarrassed right now?" You asked playfully

"W-what idiot! What makes you think I'm embarrassed?" Killua said in an almost shouting voice as he looked back to face you.

The moment he turns around you trip over some kind of branch and fell over on top of Killua. Killua catches you in his arms and you both fall over. With Killua on the bottom and you on top you felt strangely warm and at home.

" you gonna tell me about what happened now?" Killua whispered softly next to your ear

You became more and more conscious of Killua usually you would have froze at that question because it brought up some bad memories but your heart was to busy being dazzled by Killua you couldn't think of anything let alone the bad memories.

" hehe, then wanna hear it?" You asked with a hint of bitterness in your voice

"Mm...yeah" Killua replied as he continued to hold your hand and began walking forward again

" okay then, but really it's no big deal. I just... Ran away from home and my parents hired theses people to bring me back home dead or alive apparently. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that I accidentally brought this yellow folder with me in my backpack but if this is what they want then I won't give it to them. They always ignored me they never payed me any attention and now they wanna kill me because of this folder." You said with a pained expression

" did you look inside?" Killua said with a hint of hesitation in his voice

" no, I'm afraid to see what's inside...but I do know that I don't ever wanna know because I know it's gonna hurt. I'm weak so I run away... Haha..pathetic right? I'm sorry..." You said with a really dejected look and eyes full of tears

About to break down crying you knees started shaking and once you broke down crying your knees gave out too. At that moment Killua rushed to support you with his gentle embrace and mellow voice. You couldn't help but calm down. For some reason he felt like home. He waited until you've calmed down some and then he stopped embracing you as if finally realizing what he had just done Killua's face turned bright red and he looked away.

"It's okay, I'll protect you." Killua said with unwavering eyes

In that moment you were surprised but you knew he was serious, he cared, he thought of you as someone with some value and not just someone to ignore.

Killua was just as surprised at what he said because after saying that he immediately thought; wow this isn't like me at all. This girl has somehow become someone he wanted to cherish and protect. In the few days that you've known each other you have somehow made Killua think of you as someone important.
