The lights of the school dim as some event happens. Everyone heads to the ballroom, everyone except Salem. Salem had been trying to escape a particular group of girls all day and was able to trick them into going to the ball in hopes of having a dance, little did they know, he was going to the library.
As he enters he hears a soft humming, it’s coming from the top shelves.
Flame is reading as many books as he can, he’s been in the library for hours and only gotten through five books. What he’s never realised is his small habit of humming while he reads.
Salem looks up curiously, only seeing the bright red hair of the stranger.
“Hello?” He says loudly, the humming stops. As a thud sounds through the echoing room.
Flame dropped the book in surprise, he didn’t expect anyone to be there, especially so late. His heart pounds as he ducks behind the railing.
“What are you hiding from?” The voice rings in his head.
“I know someone is there.” Salem starts up the stairs toward the sound, “You can’t hide now.~”
Flame’s heart pounds, his mind beginning to go blank as his adrenaline kicks in.
Salem closes in. Just at the foot of the ladder up.
Flame hears Salem start up the ladder and reacts without thinking.
He jumps over the rail back to the ground, rolling when he hits. Salem jolts at the loud noise and looks back. He holds back a laugh as the red headed person is bolting for the door.
“Certainly an interesting encounter.” Salem rolls his eyes and goes back down the ladder, “I’ll just grab a book and go.”
Flame catches his breath by his shared dorm room before walking in and going into his room.
“What the heck was that?! Why did I run? It was just someone getting a book.” Flame feels his body trembling from the remaining adrenaline, “Maybe a bath will help…”
Flame grabs a towel and heads into the dorm’s bathroom.
Salem enters his dorm, hearing the water run.
“Oh guess that new roomie of mine finally got here, wonder what they’re like.” Salem sits on the couch and turns on the TV.
Flame sinks into the lava.
“Glad they at least had the dorms prepped for fire elementals.” His body relaxes under the molten fluid, “I wonder how the classes will work, hopefully it won’t be too much trouble for the teachers.”
Salem watches TV as half an hour goes by.
Flame drains the tub and gets out, wiping himself down with a magical towel. As he does so, he realizes his mistake. He forgot his clothes.
He wraps his towel around his waist and prays to whatever will listen, no one is out there. Flame opens the door.
Salem hears the door open and turns the TV off.
Flame takes a breath of relief, not seeing Salem on the couch. That relief is quickly taken.
Salem whistles, making Flame jolt up and grip his towel for dear life.
“Eep.” Was the only thing to escape Flame’s lips.
Salem stands and approaches him.
“I didn’t think my roomie would be so dtf~.” Salem says grinning.
“Dtf? I-I’m afraid I don’t know what that means…”
“Down to fuck~. Duh.” Salem looks him up and down, “Wait… you’re library guy!”
The color from Flame’s cheeks drains, this is worse than he thought.
“I-I haven’t been t-to the library today. I just got here..” Flame grips the doorknob of the bathroom with his left hand and his towel with his right, “ N-now may I please go get some clothes… this is a bit e-embarrassing.”
Salem chuckles.
“Aww don’t be shy~ I enjoy the view.” Salem’s words bring Flame’s color back, to the point he is bright red, “ Oh fine, if you must~.”
Flame hurries into his room and locks himself in, unsure of what to do.
“First thing’s first. Getting dressed.” He grabs some sweat pants and a hoodie.
Salem laughs to himself about the situation while sitting on the couch.
“This just got way more fun~.”
