No one is there. Salem takes a breath of relief.

“See I told you! It was nothing Lynx,” Salem pulls him out of the room and closes the door, “I haven’t met my dorm mate yet.”

“If you say so,” Lynx speaks, not believing his brother.

Flame holds his chest, trying to get his magic under control, he knew it was risky, but he had to get out of there.

“Crap, I have to go back, my suppresants are still in there,” Flame groans and looks around, “Oh no….”

Everyone in the lunch room stares, some look scared, some are snickering at him.

He turns and starts up the stairs back to the dorm. He is stopped by a group of girls walking down. They start questioning him, trapping him on the staircase.

Flame does his best to answer, but the questions keep coming. They keep getting closer and closer. He’s clinging to the handrail for dear life at this point, his magic spiking up. His eyes glow as his skin burns up.

The group doesn’t seem to notice, they just keep on.

“Breathe, boy. Look around, there is a way out.” A voice in his head chirps.

Flame glances around, but one of the girls grabs his hand and another starts grabbing and rubbing his arm saying something about a lack of muscle.

“Please get away from me. I’m not safe right now.” Flame attempts to gently push them off.

Another hand grabs him, and another, and another. They are trying to set him off now.

“Or what? You’re just a Phoenix freak!” A kid in the crowd forming around the stairs, yells, “Aren’t you supposed to be a warrior or something?” Another voice pipes up.

“Guys stop, he’ll probably kill us!”

“Oh please this thing ain’t a fighter. Look at him, he’s a coward!” A guy steps up and walks closer. “Hey! Is it true your dad beats you?”

Flame’s eyes begin glowing as a burst of fire wraps around him. That did it. Screams are heard throughout the school.

When teachers run out they see kids running for their lives. Flame has a hand around the guy’s throat. His face has an emotionless grin.

“Say it again. I dare you.” It comes from Flame, but something’s wrong.

No one knows what to do.

Salem and Lynx perk up, hearing screams. They run out and look over the rails by the dorms.

Salem stares in shock. Lynx raises an eyebrow.

“There is the other fire type. Great, an emotional wreck,” Lynx looks at his brother, “He’d be great to complete our mission here.”

Salem looks back, trying to hide something.

“Yeah, I guess so,” Salem puts on a smile.

    Lynx nods and vanishes.

The teacher’s put out Flame’s fire and gets him away from the boy, oddly easily. The principal comes out of her office and looks at him sorrowfully.

“Flame, I thought you wanted a different impression,” Her words snap him out of his rage.

“I-I do! I don’t know what came over me!” Flame tries to plead.

“I want to believe you, but your actions have consequences,” She looks to the school guards. They get the message and grab Flame from the teachers’ grips.

Flame gets dragged off, Salem watches, he doesn’t understand it.

“He seemed harmless.. Why would he just go and attack someone?”
