As soon as carmen was out of the gate she got a text from dalila are you running late again?    yes   texted  carmen  can you meet me before school?  i'm on my way i texted. "hey" said dalila "hi" "do you have plans after school?" she asked "not yet" "i was thinking we should  go  somewhere" "where?" "this new swimming pool club opened near my place we should go together" "okay" i said. Does chlorine sting? i thought to myself. "you look really pretty today" i said to dalila "really?" she asked "yeah, you are all glowy" "thanks"she smiled and looked down i smiled at her reaction. She was one of the sweetest girls in school and got really shy when someone complemented her,it made carmen smile. School was almost over with ten minutes left. The last bell rang and relief washed over carmen finally the torcher chamber that is called school is over-for today, she would have to come back tomorrow again but for now she was happy to go home. Carmen was one of the most popular girls in her school but she din't like school because of many reasons one of them was because it made her feel worse about herself - seeing a girl wearing a short skirt she wished she had legs like her, seeing an A+ on some girls paper she wished she was smarter - people saying that she was "beautiful" and "perfect" din't make her feel better it made her feel weaker - could they tell she was insecure? could they tell she was sad? why can't i hide my feelings better? she thought this all the time. she walked out

of the class and this really pissed off girl was walking towards her but Carmen din't know her "you bitch!!" she was half screaming "you are heartless" she pointed a finger at Carmen and continued "you

are dead inside" then the girl turned around and walked away Carmen just rolled her eyes and walked towards the bathroom. Carmen had been called heartless and dead inside before sometimes even her family called her that. Once she was in the stall where she was safe from anyone seeing her, she pulled up her left sleeve and saw what made her believe that she was not dead-that she was alive too. that she was not heartless.
