You said
I was the only face you could ever remember.
Everyone else's was a blur
and somehow mine was always clear.
Is that how you look at me
when we're in a crowd?
Everyone else is a blur
it's just you
and me
and us.
I never told you,
but I memorized yours, too.
Every feature, every crack
every freckle, every speck
of gold
buried in those soft green eyes.
Every curve.
Every feature.
Every freckle.
You were who I looked for in a crowd.
You were who I wanted
when I cried and cried,
pulling my hair out
trying to weed
these evil thoughts from my brain.
You were always who I looked for.
Come and find me
in this crowd
one last time.
Memorize me.
Memorize me.
memorize me.
