"Conclusively, without algae, our earth would be depleted of oxygen" you finish, taking a bow as polite applause clatters around you. You exchange a grin with Edmund, whom you have slowly become accustomed to. His admittedly difficult personality helped you wash away any residual thoughts of Lilren. Now you just viewed the incident as an embarrassing moment, nothing more. Edmund motions for you to take the seat next to him as you both sit down. You comply, as the seat partners had been rearranged for the project.

Edmund looks at you from the corner of his eye, his emerald gaze soaking you in. He really wishes the project would never end. However, Ren was starting to become more and more possessive of you. Edmund clenches his jaw as he remembers the slight comments Ren would make at meetings. He was hinting at marriage to his father, trying to get his approval. Naturally, the clan leader wanted children and heirs, so he has delighted. Edmund was torn, and he really needed to distance himself before he became too attached.

As the presentations continue on, and Edmund has his swirling rage of thoughts, you zone out until Ren and his partner walk up to the front. The poor girl next to him looks like she is going to pass out, with knocking knees and a colorless face. A combination of the public speaking and working with the school's number one boy crush.  Sending a thumbs up and a smile to Ren, you hope to raise his confidence a little. Although, he seems to be an exemplary student regardless. Ren's usually stoic face breaks into wide eyes and a blush as he makes eye contact with you. You chuckle, and Edmund feels his chest tighten a bit. He shakes his head, dissipating the tensity in his lungs.

Ren on the other hand, is doing his best to impress you with his intellect. The girl he worked with was unbearably annoying in his eyes, merely because she wasn't you. The corner of his eye twitches as the girl stumbles through the introduction. It doesn't matter that you had stuttered and slipped up in the beginning too, the embarrassed look on your face was just adorable. The black haired male despises the fact that everyone else in the classroom was able to see it as well. Especially Wildes. Ren smoothly says his part, locking his eyes on yours. You were so strange, some days you would soothe his nerves beyond measure, other days just one glance from you had his knees weak from exhilaration.

----------

"You did really well!" You proclaim, going up to Ren's desk after class had ended. Ren feels the redness climb up his neck as you continue. "The portion where you mentioned the possible side effects of sunburn makes me want to put some on now!" you laugh, and Edmund's mouth corner flicks up briefly at your stupidity. The three of you walk out of your classroom, only for you to be tackled by a snow-flurry named Remi.

He clings to you like a koala, "Y/n!!" he bubbles, nuzzling his cheek into your neck. Ren glares at the albino boy, whose cheeks are flushed with glee. You pry him off, laughing at his antics.

"You trying to mug me?" you joke, adjusting your backpack, and all four of you begin walking, Remi locking his eyes on your hand. He begins inching his fingers towards yours before Ren 'accidentally' slips between you and him. Icy navy eyes meet flaming grey ones, the latter blazing with a brazenness almost never seen in them. "What are your plans after school?" you say, unknowingly ripping the two from their silent battle.

"Nothing." Remi and Ren say in sync.

"Baseball." Edmund says nonchalantly. Although, maybe I could convince her to watch... The thought flashes across Edmund's brain before he could halt it.

"Well, I was gonna go to the cinema with a friend, but they were busy."

Ren jumps on the opportunity that you not-so-subtly placed out. "I'm not busy, so I will be joining you." he says assertively. The lot of you exit the school gates, and Edmund breaks off to go to practice. He looks back once, an odd tightening of his stomach becoming apparent when he sees you between the two polar opposites

"Remi?" you say, but the snow haired boy was mulling over who this 'friend' was. The silver haired boy? He sure hopes not.

"Sure..." he says almost absentmindedly.  His mind is roaming over the short blip of you tussling with that long haired boy. Maybe you were into boys with long hair... Remi anxiously runs his dry and chapped hands through his hair. He had washed it extra carefully as of late, to try to attract your attention to it.

You notice the male's nervous habit, and gently put a hand on his shoulder. "If you don't want to go,  that's alright." you say with a soft smile, concerned that he was nervous to be around the intimidating navy haired male. Ren's eyes brighten at the idea, while Remi's stomach drops, his grey eyes widening.

"NO!" he shouts, immediately blushing at his outburst.

"Oh. Erm, well we should hurry so we aren't late." you say, gently signaling to hurry. Your hand drops from Remi's shoulder as the trio boards the bus. It is extremely crowded, as it was the common after school bus. You hold onto the steady ring, checking your surroundings. Ren notices this, and slots himself behind you out of instinct. He sends glares at everyone who dares even glance in your general area. You are on your phone, and Ren peers down over your shoulder.

"Y/n, guess what?" Remi says, his soul abounding with a delightful discovery, the slight brushing of your shoulder to his bringing him back to his usual self.

"Hmmm?" you respond, tucking your device away.

"I have the exact film at home, so we could just watch it at my house to save money!" his face practically glows. "I even have snacks and drinks!"

Ren scowls at the idea. He quite frankly would rather go to your apartment, but he doesn't want the rat to see your house too. After all, Ren has been saving seeing the space filled purely by you for when you invite him. Not that he hasn't driven by, sorely tempted by your apartment complex.

You stop to think, then smile. "Well, I suppose we all need that extra bit of cash right now, we get off at the same stop right?" Remi hums in agreement, clutching the straps of his backpack in pure excitement.

---------

Ren rolls his eyes as Remi leads the trio to a little townhouse, excitedly chattering about some television show. Granted, it was cute to see you yammer about some hidden plot twists. What he would give to have you all to himself. One day. He can watch you wake up, and kiss you so very gently.

"Ren..." you would mumble, your messy hair and puffy face absolutely precious to your husband. "What's for breakfast?"

He would smile and kiss your forehead, only slightly more awake than you. "Either crepes or pancakes, your choice my lovely."

"They are the sameeeee" you groan. "Crepes are just skinny pancakes."

"The batter is different and fillings." Ren says, sitting up and throwing the blanket off.

"Your batter is different." you say, tugging him back down and wrapping around his broad chest.

-------

"Ren, do you watch Limerence?" your curious voice rips Ren from his dreaming.

"Huh? Oh no, I do not." Although he is going to start as soon as possible.

Remi's house is a three bedroom townhouse, very sweet and tidy. Remi is especially glad that he had cleaned his room on a whim yesterday. He has a little telly in the corner, which he switches on. "You guys can help yourselves to drinks, and snacks!" Remi was also trying to get you out of his room again, because he realized the box with some of your photos and belongings was peeking out from  under his bed. He would absolutely die if you saw his collection. It ranged from printed selfies of you two together to a few pencils and crumpled papers you dropped.

You and Ren go to the kitchen, and awkwardly begin looking for cups. "You seem oddly quiet." you note, grabbing three red solo cups. Ren shakes a can of Wasabi peas, testing the amount.

"Just tired babe," the nickname slips out of his mouth before he registers exactly what he said. You both freeze, and he eyes you from the corner of his eye. Your face holds obvious signs of embarrassment, and you burst out in awkward laughter. You really weren't used to flirting from anyone besides Lilren. A thought sneaks across your mind, both releasing and building tension.

"Uhm, well hopefully tomorrow is better," you say quickly, grabbing a bag of crisps, rushing to Remi's room.
