Belinda's POV
"Beli, we're here. The plane landed." Alexia's voice woke me up from my sleep, and my eyes opened to find her lush ones gazing intently on me. As I waited to get my bearings, I saw Regina trying to wake up her mate, but he just wasn't budging. "Belinda, come on." My mate stood up, and I followed her through the aisle. I met the curious eyes of the various pack members, and a deep blushed covered my face. Ximena was the one with all the attention, not Belinda. I liked to hide in the shadows behind my sister, so I don't fudge up anything.
"Luna."
"Luna?"
"That's the Luna!" Small murmurs were heard, and I walked faster off the plane. Then, I reached the airport; judging by the signs all over, we had landed in Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately, I remembered that the official language of Brazil was Pourtuguese rather than Spanish...meaning that I was screwed in this department.
"Belinda, come on, we have to go! The Pack is waiting for us!" Alexia grabbed a hold of my hand and dragged me through the crowd, and before I could protest about leaving her Beta, Regina appeared on our side, a little smirk on her face. Her mate was holding her waist and was looking around for any sign of attackers. I also noticed the pack members had separated and were traveling throughout the airport to avoid scrutiny. Smart.
The moment I stepped outside, I froze, making the others stop to look at me. Everything was just so beautiful; people of every size and color were running around, and the environment around us just buzzed with life. I could see everything: the statue, the ocean, and the rain forest. I've only viewed this stuff in books and internet; just being able to view it all in front of me now was so surreal.
I felt a pair of hands land on my hips, and Alexia whispered in my ear,
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" I nodded softly, trying to avoid sighing in contentment. "Well, this is your home now, so you have all of this...forever." Shallowly breathing, I murmured,
"Really?" My mate chuckled softly, and against my better judgment, I leaned back into her tall frame, allowing her to wrap her arms around me. She just felt right, and as we stood there, I began to accept the woman. Maybe, I would fall in love with her.
"Alpha, temos de sair; eles estão aqui!" Regina sharply ended our moment with a yell in Pourtuguese; and immediately the woman holding me grew frigid. The air around us became charged and tense, and I started looking around for the threat. I finally saw them about ten feet away from us.
There were five men staring right at us, clad in black. Judging by the murderous look in their eyes, I figured they weren't friendly. They then looked at me, and I felt my skin curdle. Alexia then yanked me onto her back and began running through the crowd, cursing in Pourtuguese. Regina and her mate were sprinting on both sides of us, Regina saying,
"They saw her, Alexia!" A harsh growl left my mate, and she hissed,
"I know, Regina-DUCK!" We all hit the ground as the spike flew above our heads, and I turned back to see them bursting through the crowd. People started to notice the commotion, and the wolves with me started to panic. Keeping their existence from the human population was of the utmost priority, and these freaks didn't seem to care. So...I did something I had never done before. Standing up, I focused on the ground around me and screamed a high pitched sound. Naturally, everyone turned to me, but they soon forgot about it when the ground began to shake and crack. I've had some power over the earth for a while, but I have never tried to actually control it at a massive scale. There was the worst shaking in my body, and I felt my head begin to roll on it's own. Thankfully, it slowed down our attackers and sent them flying to the ground. But I knew we weren't finished here. I was about to start fighting when Regina's mate jumped in front of us, his canines out. Alexia and I ran, but Regina screamed,
