Belinda's POV
I woke up to a pair of the most beautiful grey eyes I had ever seen. At first, I thought that this was some sort of dirty dream and that it would end very nicely for me; however, my eyes focused, and I saw the owner of the mesmerizing orbs. Then, I was rudely awakened from the dream and into reality.
Fernanda was staring at me with a mixture of disappointment and disgust, her beautiful black hair wrapped in a tight braid. Just looking at her managed to piss me off; it wasn't fair that my mate had to have a sexy ex-flame. Speaking of which, I completely forgot to ask her about Fernanda.
"Luna, the Alpha has requested that you be woken up. It is noon." Her voice was full of contempt and smugness, so full of it that I wanted to punch her in the nose. I had just experienced the most stressful day, and I was still recuperating. Then, I noticed that she was dressed in workout gear: black tank top and shorts with sneakers. "Alexia set aside some clothes for you in the bathroom. She had to send someone into the city since no one is really...your size." I felt anger flow through me, and I was about to smack her when another voice joined us.
"Fernanda, Jaime sent me to wake up the Luna. Not. You." A young girl stood in the doorway, her greenish grey eyes fixed on my rude awakener. With wild brown hair and dark skin, she resembled Alexia in many ways, except for their auras. While Alexia's was calm with a touch of amusement, hers was more brash and straightforward. "Leave, before anyone realizes you snuck out to harass the Luna." Her own voice held power, and I was tempted to obey the order. Fernanda opened her mouth to talk back, but the girl let out a low growl, sending chills up my spine. "Now!" The girl simply sent me a dirty look before sauntering out of my room, swaying her hips. When she left, the girl turned back to me, and I recognized her as the girl who alerted us of the trespassers. "I'm so sorry about that, Luna. Fernanda shouldn't have said any of that to you; it's beyond disrespectful." Stammering, I replied,
"Thanks...who are you?" I was graced with a small grin.
"I'm Valentine, Alexia's cousin." She offered her hand to me, and I took it eagerly.
"Call me, Belinda. I'm still getting used to the whole 'Luna' title." Valentine nodded.
"I can only imagine. You had an adventurous first day, didn't you?" To be honest, I could hardly remember what happened the day before; last thing I heard was Alexia talking about Lily's condition, and then the rest is a black out. "Well, Fernanda was right about something. Alexia has technically summoned you to the training field." I noticed Valentine's work out gear and replied,
"So you guys are seeing whether I could fight?"
"Yep. Here, in our pack, all pack members are taught to fight, even the women. The best just happen to be our pack warriors." She looked at me concernedly. "You have been taught how to fight, haven't you?" I nodded softly. That was a huge understatement; I used to be one of the strongest warriors back at Pack Wolf Moon. "Well, I'll leave you alone to get dressed. I'll be waiting in the kitchen." Then, she walked out the door, leaving me alone in the room. Immediately, I got off the bed and walked to the bathroom.
My reflection looked ghastly in the mirror, and I had to hold back a grimace at the sight. My long blonde hair was tangled and in horrible knots while my eye makeup was smeared all over my face. Plus, my eyes just looked exhausted, as if I hadn't slept in days. My skin was pale (well, paler than usual), and in general, I looked less like a Luna and more like a lazy teenager. Absentmindedly, I grabbed my phone and looked through the notifications. Apparently, Rosie and Ximena had texted me some updates on the Christopher situation while Braden's fate was unknown. As much as I'd like to deny it, he had gotten the short edge of the stick. Me? I was lucky to be able to flee the pack before they were aware of it. Now, he was the one they would be drilling about the incident.
