The thought of going on this date with Ben had me pacing my room , all the while keeping my eye on the clock ready for it to strike 7 o'clock. Maya had finished my makeup in ten minutes since I insisted on a natural look. My baggy ripped jeans and brown crop top are completed with my black converse and a chunky gold chain.

When the door finally knocked at one minute to seven Ben stood their eyes daring from my face to my outfit before a jovial smile overtook his face. "You look." he paused, taking in a deep breath "Just .. wow."

"Thank you , you look just wow too." He would look great in anything but his simplest style gets me every time. Black jeans and black top and doc martens. I used to tell him when we were teenagers that it was my favourite of all his outfits.

I wonder if that's why he wore it tonight?

Ben closed the space between us pulling me into a hug, affirmation flashing in his eyes before all that met my gaze was his chest. Not that I'm complaining, it is a very nice chest!

"What are you thinking about for tonight?" I ask into his chest

"You don't want to know what I'm thinking about right now, love!"

"I was on about where we are going. Pervert!" I playfully squat his chest after he releases me from his clutch.

"Fuck. I was just going to wait but," he said breathlessly, eyeing me like he's about to devour me "I'm going to kiss you okay?" he questions not waiting for my answer before his lips pounce down on mine.

His tongue slips to find mine and he kisses me slowly. Torturing me! Our mouths were knitted together; they always fit perfectly until he pulled away and ran his thumb across my wet lips.

He doesn't say another word as he grabs my hand leading me out the front door passing Maya looking at us in admiration. I can already tell she's going to ask me a thousand questions upon my return.

The car heating blasts onto my face before Ben takes the hint to turn it down. I toy with the string caused by the rips in my jeans as the nerves take over me. "When is this wedding?"

"You're actually gonna come?" Ben asks suddenly did he seriously think I wouldn't come when he got me into a swimming pool? I nod when he turns his head quickly before looking back at the road. His unhide able smile makes me feel ten times better about my decision. "It's in four weeks." The remainder of the short car-ride remains quiet, only Ben's dimpled smile to fill the quiet. Not the type of silence that creates awkwardness that looms the air. It's the type of silence that's peaceful.

"Thanks." I say quietly , Ben nodded and closed his car door behind me then clasped my hand as he put his other veiny hand over my eyes.

"No peeking!" He whispers into my ear sending a chill down my spine.

The darkness thickens as he guides me across a road and up a staircase ensuring me I was safe the whole time. I didn't ever once feel unsafe with him.

"Ready?" His raspy voice awakens me from the wasteland of darkness.

"So ready that if you don't move your hand I may have to lick it just to make you move it!"

He doesn't move his hand

"Very funny, come on show me. Please." I beg

The light hits me like a bullet.

Arrays of books meet my gaze blissfully delighting me. Authors like Jane Austin warmly greet me with their familiarity. I turn around to fully take in the scene. It's perfect not just in the way the books are ordered A-Z it's just perfect for us.
