Still walking away holding her torn dress to her chest she let the tears fall freely from her eyes.

"Come over here and talk to me Lil mama!"

She choked back tears and called out, "I can't I'm going to my Auntie's house!"

"Who is your Auntie Lil baby?!"

"Pearl Mae Matthews!"

"She ain't home right now so come fuck with me!"

"Okay, but I can only talk for a minute!"

"A minute is all I need baby girl!"

Kaylonie smiled and he smirked.

She crossed the sidewalk and street to get to him.

He looked up into her face and studied her for a moment then he smiled.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm doing better now that I'm back home."

"Where were you before?"

"Miami"

"What were you doing down there."

"Being a stripper and having sex with men for money."

"I see your dress is torn so you know that I had to ask Lil, baby."

"Yeah, that's what I used to do."

"What about you what is it that you do?"

"I used to sell drugs."

"What made you stop selling drugs?"

"I sold drugs to a pregnant girl and she overdosed and died."

"Wow, I am sorry to hear that."

"Did you know that she was pregnant when you sold her the drugs?"

"Hell naw I didn't know that shit and she wasn't showing."

"Oh okay, then."

"What about you how did you go from stripping to hooking?"

"My pimp told me he'd take me away from life as a stripper into a better life."

"Then this nigga had you selling your body huh?"

"Yes, he did and he just kicked me out of his car."

"What is this nigga's name?"

"His name is Lamont but everyone in Miami calls him Monty."

"What part of Miami is this nigga from?"

"Liberty City."

"Mmmm, okay."

"What do you do now?"

"I'm a writer."

"Really?"

"Yes, I write urban fiction Lil mama."

"That's very nice."

"Thank you baby girl."

"You're welcome."

"So, Lil mama what do you do?"

"I love writing poetry but just as a hobby though."

"Would you like to be published someday?"

"I've never really thought about it very much."

"Well think about it for me if that's okay with you."

"Okay, I sure will."

"That's good."

"I love poetry so much old and new poems."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes, really."

"So what's your name Lil mama?"

"My name is Kaylonie."

"Mmmm... Kaylonie I like that."

"Thank you, Mr.?"

"Lo."

She lifted a skeptical brow.
