A shiver running through your body woke you up the next morning. Blinking your eyes, you were just able to make out the first faint traces of sunlight peeking in through the closed blinds. Doyoung was still sound asleep beside you, and you looked at his peaceful face with fondness. But the chill present in your fingers reminded you of why you had woken up. The coolness of the night and the man beside you had finally penetrated your warm layers. You wanted very much to just go back to sleep, exhaustion heavy and thick in your veins. But if you kept shivering like this, you'd wake up Doyoung and he'd freak out again.
So you reluctantly pushed the covers off you and climbed out of the bed as quickly as possible. When a bare foot impacted with the dark blue rug on the floor, you realized that one of your fuzzy socks had come off in the middle of the night. Presuming it to be lost among the blankets, you resigned yourself to having to find another in Doyoung's dresser. The white hoodie you had taken earlier was on top of the black piece of furniture, and you slipped it on quickly, leaving the hood where it naturally fell on your head.
Your eyes were adjusted to the dim light, allowing you to look at the framed picture on the dresser clearly. Another one of the two of you, sitting on the bench right next to the ice rink, you smiling brightly and a small smile creeping across his own face. They were out of frame, but you knew that his arms were around your waist, confident that the layers you had donned for the frozen environment would protect you against him too for the few moments while you took the picture.
The fact that the only pictures in his apartment were of the two of you was bittersweet. Obviously, you were happy that he wanted to put them up, but the lack of pictures with any other friends or family made your heart twinge. No memories, no other important people in his life.
With a sigh, you squatted down to the bottom right drawer, securing another fuzzy sock. You were pretty sure this one was yellow. After pulling it on, you padded back over to the bed and slipped under the blankets. You pulled them up to your chin, perfectly cozy again.

This time the sun woke you up. You honestly hadn't even realized that you'd gone back to sleep. It was well past sunrise now, and you rolled away from the brightness. Right into Doyoung's face.
He let out a noise of pain, and your eyes flew open to look at him with alarm. A hand was holding his nose, brows slightly furrowed.
"I think your forehead broke my nose," he murmured.
"Sorry," you whispered back.
"It's fine," he lowered his hand and tucked it between his cheek and the pillow. "You put a hoodie on."
"Oh, yeah."
"Cold?"
"Not anymore, because I put the hoodie on."
"Good."
You scooted just a bit closer, enough to be able to press your face against his chest. Breathing in deeply, you felt your body relaxing once again. Having already confirmed your temperature, Doyoung rested a single hand on your waist, letting it then take a slow path up and down your back.
"You smell like winter... like when you wake up and go outside and its cold and quiet and peaceful," you admitted, breathing in the refreshing scent again. "I like it."
"You didn't list a single thing that actually has a smell."
"Shut up, snowflake."
Doyoung's hand moved to squeezed your arm gently, "Yeah, I don't mind it when you say it."
A brief quiet fell over the room as he returned to rubbing your back soothingly. As your mind began waking up, all the events of last night bubbled up in your thoughts.
"So you're going back to Erethulia in a week when Chaewon comes back for your answer."
"Yes..."
A plan had already been forming in the back of your mind, "That's also the start of my spring break. I want to go with you. For at least that week that I have off."
You felt Doyoung's chest rise and deflate with a breath, the hand rubbing your back coming around to grab one of your hands that had been resting between your bodies. You shifted slightly, trying to watch as he pulled it up out of your sight. And when you felt the feather light, cool ghost of a kiss against your knuckles, a smitten smile broke out across your face.
"I was about to ask you that. Please come with me, I'd love to show you my home."
"And I'd love to see it."
"Well then it's settled."
"Our first trip as a couple, how romantic," you mused humorously.
"Not quite a romantic getaway," he scoffed, putting your hand back down before his own returned to rubbing your back. "But yes, this will be our first trip together."
"Is there phone reception there?"
"I'm not sure..."
"Okay, just need to make sure I've got my story straight to tell my family and Jaemin," you explained, mind running at a million miles a minute in preparation. "I'm thinking... spending spring break skiing with my boyfriend at a really far away mountain where we might not get cell reception. Sound plausible?"
"Well, it is almost the truth."
"Okay, great. Now I need to figure out Taeyong."
"What do you mean?"
"He hates being in the apartment alone for long periods of time, especially overnight. I'm not sure he'd survive a whole week like that."
He simply hummed, continuing to softly stroke your back. A few minutes of quiet passed between the two of you when you suddenly remembered something.
"So what do you play on your Switch?"
Doyoung's hand froze for a moment before he answered, "Super Smash Bros."
"Who do you main?"
"Bayonetta."
"Kirby."
"Do you want to go play?"
"Hell yes."
