"Sir. Sir??"

Samuel is awoken from his memories by the call of the waiter.

Waiter: Sir, are you oaky?

Samuel: Yes, yes am fine.

Waiter: Alright sir. Have you decided what you want, or do you need more time?

Samuel: Do you serve lentil soup?

Waiter: Yes sir, we do. It's our most famous dish.

Samuel: I'll have that then, with some bread.

Waiter: Okay sir, your order will be out soon.

With that the waiter walked towards the kitchen and Samuel closed his eyes to go back to that day.

-------

Samuel was happy. Rachaita had just accepted to be his girl and he was about to taste those lips for the very first time. But that was interrupted by the arrival of her step-dad. Even though they had both separated, the pink tint present on Rachaita was enough for her father to guess what had happened or what was about to happen. Though he had never outright shown his dislike towards Samuel, he was not at all fond of their friendship. But since her mother allowed it, he couldn't do anything about it. He gave them once lasting glance and then walked towards his bedroom, living the 2 of them in the kitchen area.

Rachaita: He doesn't seem to be in a good mood.

Samuel: I've never seen him in a good mood.

Rachaita giggles hearing that.

Samuel: Now that's a sound that I can hear for a lifetime.

Rachaita: (slaps his shoulder playfully) Stop it.

They both laugh and then stop suddenly while looking at each other. They start leaning in again, but are interrupted once again when her step-dad calls for her. She turns off the gas and goes to him immediately. Samuel was liking the man lesser and lesser with each passing minute. After some time Rachaita comes downstairs and she seems in a bad mood.

Samuel: What's wrong?

Rachaita: Nothing, mom is busy in a surgery. So she is not going to come home today.

Samuel: Do you want me to stay? I can ask my mum. She won't mind.

Rachaita: I wish, but he is home and you know he is not fond of you.

Samuel: Well the feeling is mutual. I don't want you staying alone with him either.

Rachaita: Stop it. It's not the first time I'm home alone with him. Don't worry. Here, let me pack some soup for you.

Samuel: Oh, I can't even stay for dinner? You just agreed to be my girlfriend and now you are rushing me out??

Rachaita: Samuellll.... (laughing)

Samuel: Okay, okay. Don't worry am going. Just call me if you need me, okay?

Rachaita: Yes, my knight in shining armor. I will. Happy??

Samuel: I'll be happier if you give me a kiss.

Rachaita looks at the staircase and then leans towards him and pecks him on his cheek.

Rachaita: Happy?

Samuel: That's not a real kiss, but I'll take what I can get. See you at school tomorrow.

RAchaita: See you.

Samuel: Come closer.

Rachaita: (After leaning in) What?

Samuel: I love you.

And then he steals one more kiss, this time on the lips and then runs away a little further. He turns around to see her, standing there shocked but with a smile on her lips and her hand to her mouth. She looked so innocent at that moment, that he felt the urge to capture that moment in his camera. And that is exactly what he did. He clicked a pic of her reaction to their first kiss.

Their first and last kiss. He waited all night to get a reply to his good night message to her, but it never came. This brought an uneasy feeling to him, which he tried to brush it off and went to school. He was hoping to catch up with her there and tease her a little, but she was nowhere to be found. He called her, again no reply. After school, he went to her place, only to find the place to be deserted. He found out from the neighbors, that a lot had happened after he left that night.
