Hey guys! I know it has been a while, but here is the new chapter. Just for those of you who don't know, the other chief of police for Gotham City is Commissioner Gordon. Hope you all enjoy this chapter!
Gwen's POV
I fall face first on my bed, sighing. Last night was a disaster; Batman stuck a tracker on me, hunted me down, lectured me, and worst of all, he brought up Peter. It's none of his damn business! How DARE he bring up Peter?!!
Not to mention, the fact that I met the Young Justice team on top of all that. I told myself I wouldn't get attached, but I find myself wanting to see them. It was actually fun working with them, and now that I'm back on my own, I honestly miss it.
But it's like I told Batman, I work alone. I just don't know how to work with others, and I don't need help. I'm just as talented as the Spider-verse version of Spiderwoman, and I always get up after getting hurt. Just like all the other spider people.
I hear a knock on my door, and sit up to see my dad walk in.
My dad is George Stacy, formerly the captain of the NYPD, now the co chief of Gotham City's Police Department. He's the one who had us move here, into a nice apartment in the richer part of the city. We aren't rich or anything, but we're definitely not hard on money.
My dad's hair is brown with some grey in it, mostly from stress. He is about 5'8, with dark blue eyes. My dad's been taking care of me all on his own since my mom died when I was eleven. He also has a very stressful job with long hours, but hopefully it will be a bit better now that he will have a partner and more coworkers to shoulder the workload.
Dad comes over and sits on the edge of my bed.
"Hey Gwen," Dad smiles at me gently, "how are you doing?"
Still laying on my face, I turn my head slightly and smile at him. "I'm fine dad, just tired."
Dad nods, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Gwen, you know if you need to talk-"
I interrupt him, nodding slightly. "I know dad, I'll come to you."
Dad smiles again, "good to hear. Now, I know this is short notice, but we have a very important guest coming over with his foster son, and I want my beautiful daughter downstairs to welcome them." He then sends me a joking grin, "would that be possible?"
I groan, but smirk at my dad.
"I don't know, I might have things to do, I mean, this bed really is just calling me." To prove my point, I snuggle more into my bed. Dad laughs loudly and pats my back.
"Well, try to come down in time. They wanted to meet you too."
I hum noncommittally. "Ughh, fine, I might come. Might," I stress.
Dad huffs amusedly, "alright. I'll see you down there in an hour."
Dad leaves my room with a chuckle as I shout at his back, "might!"
I roll onto my back with an exhale, then turn my head to look at my closet, a black turtleneck, a skirt, and some black leggings sticking out.
"Hmm," I hum to myself.
Well, I guess I could show up for a little bit.

Still Gwen's POV
An hour later, and I am ready. Wearing the outfit that was sticking out of my closet, I open the door to my room and begin to walk downstairs.
