Venti's pov (point of view)

the tavern was filled with people like always. the rain pouring as it was night time already which just made the night feel like a comfort. tonight, i was at my favorite place to be like almost every other night. i think you can guess where already, the tavern of course! i've been drinking a little alcohol from time to time while singing songs with the other drunk people, not really drunk.. maybe a little tipsy but that's about it.

i noticed diluc looking at me with his usual stern look, me sitting down at the stools with a little smile on my face. i'm surprised he didn't tell everyone to leave since it was later than when the tavern was supposed to close. "what's wrong with you, grumpy face? you look more annoyed than usual" i asked as he just looking at me while wiping a wine glass with a towel.

"this is your tenth glass, no more for you today" diluc completely ignored my question.. typical him to do so. "oh come onnnn you have let me drink more than today, what happened?" this time i was actually pretty worried since he wasn't really acting himself, leaning my head against my hand which stayed on the table. it honestly looked like he would snap and murder someone if he wasn't in such a busy place.

"none of your concerns, bard. you should leave the tavern with the others" diluc responded which made me roll my eyes at him. "i've heard that before from you already, i just want to be nice and see what's wrong with you" i think me responding and trying to figure out what was wrong with him only made him more mad and actually snap at me soon enough.

i could hear him growl and mumble under his breath as it was pretty hard to hear what he said from all of the loud noises and songs the people were singing or more like screaming at the top of their lungs. "i said get out" he replied, looking at me with a serious face which only made me believe it was a joke or he didn't really mean it. "GET. OUT." diluc raised his voice which only confused me. he didn't have anything with me other times, what does he have now that he suddenly wants me gone?

"diluc-" "NO. i said get out. i don't wish to see you EVER again. leave my tavern. now." he snapped, breaking the glass in his hand as i flinched at the noise. the whole place got quiet from the glass breaking, staring at us which made me gulp. a weak chuckle escaped my lips while getting up from the stool. "i'll make your wish come true then" my voice cracked from trying to not tear up from the sudden yelling. i put a little bag with mora inside on the table before walking out of the tavern.

from behind me i could hear diluc sighing and telling the people "nothing to see here, continue on with your days. a drink will be free for all of you" he told them as they started cheering as if nothing had happened. the rain started to pour more quicker and more often.

atleast my tears wouldn't have been seen with the rain and the night. the only thing what i could've done now is to leave, starting to run back to windrise to my usual spot. i didn't think twice to what i was doing, i just wanted to fulfill diluc's wish and never come back.

i wish i have left the first time.
