The Spitfires qualified for the semi-finals. Since they finished in fourth place in the round-robin, they had to play against the team who finished first. Since the Storm finished first, they would have to play the Spitfires for a second time.
The Spitfires came out hard but the Storm came out harder. The Storm had many chances but the Spitfires had many breakaways. The Storm scored within a few minutes of the first period.
The Spitfires kept getting breakaways but kept missing the net. Also the Storm's goalie was very big and talented. Finally, the Spitfires scored in the seconded period but it was disallowed because the referees blew the whistle when the puck was still visible.
The Spitfires lost but that didn't destroy their chances of winning a medal. They would play the Hurricanes once again for the bronze medal. The Hurricanes lost to the Hawks who finished second.
