What call you may ask, well the call that changed my life forever. "Mom's calling!!" Laurin yelled to me. Mom told us the news that confused everyone. "Marri is going to jail" I could feel my stomach drop and my heart shatter. "What could Marri have done that was so horrible?" thoughts racing through my head. "LAURIN THIS ISN'T FUNNY!!!" I really wanted it to be a prank. Deep down I knew Laurin wouldn't have set up a prank like that especially during this time of year. She hated Marri but not that much. The rest of the evening was pretty quiet. I didn't feel like talking, or eating, or even listing to my favorite rapper, 2Pac. All I could think about was Marri. I couldn't imagine Marri would do anything to go to jail. "How long will he be in jail for?" I couldn't wrap my head around the idea of Marri being gone. All I could do was hope Ma would let me see him even if it was through a jail cell.
