Melly, having blood red hair, that she lightly curled, with piercing green eyes; chose a short, flowy, white dress with a black lace pattern down the side. Her mask was black with sliver scroll work and black and white feathers. Melly also wore solid black closed toe heels. Cristi had golden blonde hair with brunette highlights that was fishtailed to the side, and steel blue eyes. So Melly chose for her, a short purple dress with rhinestones on the bodice and flowed out from the bodice. To match, Cristi is wearing a silver mask with intricate purple details and simple beige heels. Cristi had no idea why everyone is staring at her, Melly she understood. Melly looked gorgeous in her outfit, while Cristi felt she looked overdressed and awkward. But seeing as she has never been to a dance before, Cristi just let it go, assuming that everyone was looked at when they entered the room. Melly, on the other hand knew that the stares that they were given were not just because they entered the room, but also because of how stunning they looked, especially Cristi. The purple dress she was wearing along with her mask, made her look absolutely breathtaking. Even Melly knew that Cristi was the most beautiful girl in the whole room that night, yet no one but Melly knew who it was under the mask. After everyone got over the beautiful girls and continued on chatting and getting their pictures taken, Melly and Cristi walked over to the line for getting pictures and stood there waiting for about half an hour.
An hour into the dance, everyone was out on the dance floor dancing away, while Cristi sat at a table watching everyone and feeling like a complete outsider. Dancing wasn’t in her natural vocabulary and was wishing she could just go home and read until she fell asleep. Then a slow song came on, Melly was dancing with some guy she met at the beginning of the dance and Cristi decided to just go outside so she didn’t have to watch all of the couples she secretly envied. Then all of a sudden, a good looking guy walked up her.
“Hey, would you like to dance with me?”
“Well…I was headed outside to get some air, but I guess one dance wouldn’t hurt.”
“Great, you look beautiful by the way.”
“Thanks, I don’t usually go to dances, but my friend dragged me here, so if I am a horrible dancer you can tell me.”
“I doubt you can be a horrible dancer, you are too gorgeous not to know how to dance, and why don’t you come to dances?”
“Well I am not the kind of girl who usually dresses up for one night to dance around for a few hours. I would rather be doing something more productive. My friend calls me boring and in a way I guess I am, but I don’t see the point in wearing a dress for one night only.”
“Wow you seem like the type of girl who knows what she wants to do in life, why don’t I know who you are?”
“No one really pays attention to me, I blend into the background.” Just then the song ended and a new, more upbeat song began playing.
“I am going to go outside and get some fresh air, do you want to join me prince charming?”
“Yes I would, and why do you call me prince charming?”
“Because you look like prince charming, would you please tell me your name?”
“How about I take off my mask and you take off yours.”
“Maybe, you have to take yours off first.”
“Fine, deal.”
