RAFE'S POV

"You don't understand. I-I gotta talk to her." Topper slurred his words as he gripped onto the steering wheel, driving faster down the street.

"You're better off without her, Top. Trust me. I live with the bitch." I tried to tell him.

"Rafe, don't call your sister a bitch, man. Come on." Topper groaned.

"I'll call her whatever I want, man, alright?" I smirked as I looked down at my lap, straightening out my line of coke that I was setting up.

"I just- I gotta see her. We aren't good right now a-and I need to make things right." He shook his head before he took a swig of the beer in his hand.

Sarah and Topper had gotten into a small fight at midsummers. Top couldn't shake the fact that she was hanging around John B and he felt like she was cheating on him. If that were true, it proved my point of how much Sarah was a bitch. My best friend didn't deserve to be with someone like her.

"Whatever." I mumbled as I closed my one nostril, inhaling deeply through the other nostril that I just snorted with. The familiar burning sensation made its way down my throat and I took a sip of my beer to try and rid of that feeling.

Topper soon pulled into the driveway of my house, and we both exited his jeep, walking up to the front door. I unlocked the door and closed it once Top and I entered. It was around midnight now and I knew my family was sleeping. I tried to keep quiet so we wouldn't wake them.

"We gotta make this quick, alright?" I said to Top, almost in a whisper. "I'm not trying to miss Kelce's party."

"I'll make it quick." Topper nods in agreement.

"Good." I nod. "Knock on my door when you're done. Got it?"

Topper nodded his head before he made his way to Sarah's room and I made my way to my room. Knowing that Scar was waiting there for me made me eager to see her. I hated to admit it, but I missed her all night. I couldn't wait to see her again. I hated the fact that I was going to have to leave her in a few minutes to go to Kelce's party, but I figured some time with her now would be better than none.

I turned the nob to my door, slowly opening it. My room was dark when I entered it, so I assumed Scar was sleeping. I closed the door behind me as I maneuvered my way around my room in the dark.

"Scar?" I whispered so I wouldn't startle her. "Scar, I'm home." I said softly.

I found my way to my desk and turned on the lamp, a dim light illuminating my room. I turned to my bed, noticing it was made and Scar wasn't in it.

"You gotta be fucking kidding me." I clenched my jaw, realizing she wasn't in my room.

I cursed to myself as I wandered my room, trying to see if she left anything behind. A note, a location, anything. I had no idea where she could be, and my mind was racing on the possibilities of where she went. I felt my heart beat pick up as I thought about her returning home to her dad.

It was so dangerous for her to be home with him. What if he took his anger out on her? What if something happened to her? It wasn't like I could call her to see if she was okay. The cell towers were still down and I kicked the pile of clothes on my floor as I realized that the towers being down made this even more difficult.
