Kingdoms fall at the hands of evil.
She turns to her other side as she dreams.
Six servants of light will stand against the darkness.
Then she begins to toss and turn, crumpling the blankets as she does so.
One will betray the light and succumb to the darkness. Two will fall at the Doors of Death. But the light will overpower in the dead of night.
As the last lines are spoken in a soft whisper Raine bolts awake. She feels a soft pulse of electricity flow through her. Alarmed she runs to where her brother lies, not far away.
“Ira.” She whispers urgently in his ear. Even more alarmed, by his not stirring at the sound of her voice, she begins to shake him as she whispers more loudly and urgently then before, “Ira”.
“What?” Ira asks his sister as he sits up suddenly.
After getting over the way he scared her Raine replies in a quiet voice, “I had a very strange dream.”
A look of interest swipes across his face before annoyance replaces it. “It was probably just a bad dream or something. Why don’t you bring your blankets closer to me and then go back to sleep? Okay?”
“But it wasn’t a bad dream,” Raine began, “it was something more! Like a prophecy or something.”
“Why would a prophecy come to a poor orphaned girl, like you.” he said, becoming annoyed once more with his little sister. Ira usually didn’t argue with his sister. He always tried to please her the best he could and he thought they needed to stay close because of their circumstances.
“Maybe- just maybe- I don’t really know how it came to me but I know it’s a prophecy and a important one at that!” She screamed at her brother as she began to stomp away from him towards her bedding.
Instead of pulling her blankets toward her brother, like he had suggested, she moved them farther away. During that night, her dreams proved her brother very wrong.
