"Why the hell is Barnes here?" Ross asks sternly.

The air in the room was thick with the lingering smells of Cuban cigars and rich bourbon. Ross was sat behind his grand oak desk, everything on it was clinically neat and organized. You wondered if you were to move a pen an inch to the left would he have an aneurysm, but you neglected to test that theory.

"I want him on this mission with me," you put bluntly.

Ross scoffs, "i don't think you have any room to negotiate on this, you play by my rules, he's out."

You expected that answer from the pompous ass, "I'm your only resource you have to find the rest of Tan's followers quickly, but i need his skills on tactical take downs and extraction, unless you just want me to kill them on the spot? Save you guys the trouble of collecting them," you end it sassily knowing you had the upper hand.

Ross thinks for a moment and huffs, "Barnes, and no one else," he hesitantly agrees, he shifts in his seat before he continues, "there's five of them i want in my custody," he says sliding you three photographs with their faces on, the photos had been taken the day they stormed the mall opening, "we believe them to be the ring leaders of Tans operations."
You recognized them from your training days back in Bucharest.
Ross slides a phone across the table, "once you have one of the monsters captured and immobilized you call me and i will take care of the rest."
You knew that it was a petty dig from Ross by calling them monsters, but it didn't hurt any less. It also made Bucky visibly pissed off as he knew the effect the comment would have one you.

"What are you doing with them once you have them?" you ask.

"We have a secure holding cell where they can rot," he smiles, "here's your credit card, the keys to your vehicle and safe house we set up for you, which incidentally is only a one bed, so you two can figure that one out," he says with the implication that one of you would have to take the couch, not knowing you are dating.

"Why cant we stay at the tower?" the question flows from your mouth.

"I wont compromise the rest of the teams safety, and i definitely don't want enhanced vampiric individuals on my hands."

Little did he know Bucky was already the thing he feared, but you could agree on not putting the rest of the team in danger.

"So wheres this safe house?"

"Hell's Kitchen," Ross says with glee in his tone, clearly making some sick joke about vampires belonging in Hell.

This provoked Bucky who approached Ross's desk with fire in his eyes, startling the secretary who slid back a little cautiously in his chair. Bucky picked up the keys and credit card and turned around to you, "were leaving."

You nod at him and then stare down Ross before turning to leave, "oh and you'll need to send me 3 bags of human blood daily unless you want me to kill civilians to get my strength," you say in a jovial tone to him. You heard him grumble something as you slammed the door behind you and made your way down to the car park. Bucky clicked the keys and the lights of a black 2021 Ford Mustang flashed indicating that was a match, Bucky gets in at the drivers side. The phone that Ross gave you buzzed as you took your seat in the passengers side, you take it out of your pocket and read the address of your safe house, followed by him telling you yours and Barnes's belongings will be delivered by an agent later.

Looking back up your eyes are met with Bucky's, "you okay?"

You smile to assure him, "yeah," although honestly you were unsure, not being able to stay at the tower or say goodbye to the team made you a little sad. But the sooner you got this mission done the sooner you could go home, "let's get this done," you tell him.

Bucky takes that as a signal to start the car and drive, you relax back into your seat and watch as the tall buildings pass you by. You soon pull up to a mid terrace red bricked townhouse complete with potted plants in the lower window sills. As you walk up the 5 steps to the front door Bucky turns the key and enters cautiously, surveying his surrounding, "wait here," he instructs in a low whisper.

You unquestionably do as he asks as you watch him walk down the hallway to the kitchen and lounge, once done in there he heads upstairs. A couple of moments later you see him making his way back downstairs looking more relaxed, "we're clear, no bugs or cams," he reveals.
You smile in thanks not even realizing that might of been an issue, "see this is why i need you with me."

Bucky gives a small chuckle, "so you ready to live with me again?" he asks as he wraps his arms loosely around you pulling your body to his.

You repeat his small chuckle with your own, "that depends, do you still leave your clothes laying around everywhere?"

"Well if you didn't rip them off me every 2 seconds," he quips back with a smirk.

You smirk back and bite your lip as you look at his. You couldn't help yourself as you kiss him softly, but that's not what he wanted. He returns your kiss by tilting his head and brushing his tongue against yours, he deepens it as he runs one hand through your hair and pulls you closer with his other. You move your hands under his shirt running your fingers over his taught physique, playfully squeezing and massaging his sides. His kisses lead down to your neck your eyes shift from the anticipation of him sinking his teeth into you. His eyes shifted, you felt his mouth part and the sharpness of his canine graze your soft skin.

*KNOCK*KNOCK*KNOCK*

The sound that came from the front door made the two of you freeze. Bucky shifts back to normal, "stay like that," he whispers barely audibly, prompting you to stay in your vampiric form.
Bucky looks through the door viewer and sees a gentleman in a brown and yellow uniform, three large packages on the doorstep and his van parked on the street behind him.

He opens the door concealing you behind it.

"Delivery for (y/l/n) and Barnes," the UPS guy announces as he hands the clipboard and pen for Bucky to sign, which he does.

"Thank you sir, have a great day."

Bucky effortlessly lifts the three packages into the hallway and closes the door locking it tight. He takes one look at you and shifts back to his vampiric form, "now where were we."
