After making your way back downstairs you open the 3 packages that Ross sent, one box had your suitcases packed with a variety of both of your clothes, the second had your Avengers suits, a selection of weapons, the extra keys to the house and spare phone for Bucky, the third had the three bags of blood you had requested.
"I guess we best get started," you tell Bucky.
He looks at you with that serious look he gets before missions, "so where do we start?"
"Remember when we got ambushed in your room?"
Bucky nods but doesn't answer, listening intently.
"I remember one of them from Bucharest and if he's here, his leech of a brother will be here too, he'll be our lead."
"Okay, so where do we find him?"
"We've just got to find the most run down bar in town," you tell him, "so get dressed, were going out tonight," you smile.
-----------
Nightfall came and you and Bucky had gotten dressed just like a regular couple going out for a night on the town. You wore an all black outfit, high waist jeans, a crop top, blazer and wedge boots. Bucky seemed to have the same idea, his jeans, shoes and leather jacket were all black but his t-shirt was a dark blue.
As Bucky is concealing weapons, which was something you had already done, you walk over to him, "here," you hand him two of the three bags of blood, "drink up."
He looks at you a little quizzical.
"This will be the first time out in public since you changed and we cant have people overstimulating your senses, if your full you should have more control," you answer, "if you feel yourself losing focus, tell me, and we abort the mission."
"I will," he replies as he devours the bags.
You do the same to yours, a little slower than Bucky, savoring the irony taste.
"So whats the play when we find this guy?" he asks as you drink.
"He should do anything i ask," you say bluntly, "but whatever happens don't use your power," you pause looking at him seriously, "under any circumstance."
Bucky takes a moment, he knew you were worried about other vampires finding out about his ability, given that it was such a powerfully rare one.
He had left too long of a silence.
"Promise?" you push.
"I promise," he says pulling you into a hug and kissing the top of your head.
"Good," you whisper, "and if anything happens and we get separated i will meet you back here," you say as you pull away gathering the last of the things you needed before heading out.
----------
The nights air was cold but it didn't bother either of you as you get into your Uber. Earlier on you had googled the addresses of some run down bars in the area and narrowed it down to two, Back Pocket Bar and Deacon Brodies Tavern.
You gave one of the address to the driver and she headed in that direction, "you two sure you wanna go to this place? it has a pretty bad reputation, i can take you to somewhere better?" she offers."We'll be okay," you say open ended hoping she wouldn't ask any further questions. Which worked, the rest of the car journey was silent as she pulled up near the bar. You payed her and exited the car, you and Bucky both looking around and taking in your surroundings. You spot an ATM near by, "watch my back while i get some cash?" you ask Bucky, as there were some shady looking people around.
"Sure thing Doll," he says as he follows you, standing close but looking the other way, "what do you need cash out for?" he asks.
"You'll see."
Once you had a couple of hundred in your pocket the two of you head into D.B's Tavern. You take the lead and walk past the regular patrons who were staring as you find yourselves two seat at the bar. You sat sideways at the bar facing the door, Bucky sat facing you keeping an eye on the back entrance, but first he glances back at the guys who were staring at you, making them stop immediately and go back to nursing their drinks.
"What'll it be?" the barman asks.
"Two whiskeys on the rocks," you tell him, this wasn't the bar for please and thank yous as you slide a $10 across the bar. He hands you your drinks and places your change next to your glass before walking off to tend to other guests.
You look at Bucky, "how you feeling?" you ask.
"Yeah, fine," he replies, "it's all the same," he says cryptically as not to draw attention to your conversation. What he meant was there was no distinctive vampire smell in the air, it was all human, meaning there wasn't a vampire in the building.
"Let's stay here a while," you tell him, "if he doesn't show we will go to the other bar."
Both of you sit and enjoy each others company, talking and slowly drinking, almost forgetting that you were supposed to be doing a job, that's when the smell hits your nose. The door of the tavern opens and you see him, you finish your drink and get up and walk towards your target, knowing Bucky would follow your lead
"HEEEEEYYYYYYY RIAN!" you say over joyed to see your 'friend'.
He had already spotted you from across the room and had turned around to make his way back out of the pub, but you had made your way over to him and placed you arm around his shoulder, pulling him into a hug.
"Where have you been? Its good to see you! lets drink," you say still with fake joy in your tone as not to look suspicious to the people around you.
As he pulls out of the hug he replies, "thanks but i should really get going."
Bucky comes up to the two of you also with fake glee in his voice, "come on, it's been years since I last seen you." What he said was true, Rian had seen Bucky once or twice before in Bucharest but you didn't know if Bucky would remember him, "just one drink?" he adds.
Rian was a medium height man, with an underweight build, shaggy sandy hair and a gaunt complexion so one look at the newly vampiric Bucky had him scared, "sure, one drink," he finally agrees.
