Her name was Emily and her brothers name was Monty. They always played together and spent time together. She was around seven years old when her brother died and it still haunts her in her nightmares.

The flames surrounding her in the living room, the smoke limiting her visibility as she called out to her brother who was no where to be found. Until a firefighter pulled her out of the house and to the paramedics so they could take care of her, but when they tried to go back inside for her brother the all she could hear was the sound of a house exploding and the remaining pieces falling to the ground. Hours later when the fire went out and the firefighters went back they found a burnt body lying on the ground holding a burnt teddy bear. They took the teddy bear and gave it to Emily as they took her and her parents to the police station for questioning while a detective checked on Emily and played with her trying to calm her down and wipe away tears. The cause of the fire was bad wiring in the heater which Emily's father Robin admitted needed to have been fixed months ago. When they left the police station Emily, her father Robin, and her mother Jude went to a motel room and stayed there until they could get a new house to stay in.

*four weeks later*

Emily was headed to bed after a rough day at school and dealing with her drunken father who kept hitting her. She skipped dinner and went to bed while her mother and father argued and things were thrown about the kitchen.

"Get out of my house!" Her father yelled as he pointed towards the door. Her mother, Jude, happily obliged and left not taking Emily with her. Emily shut her eyes as she heard the front door slam shut and muffled words escaped her cut lip from her fathers ring. When she was almost asleep she heard something in her closet stir which made her jump and hold her hand over her heart. She curled up under the covers, shaking like a leaf in the wind she covered her head with the thin white blanket and kept her tears at bay. She thought monsters weren't real but that day proved they were. When she woke up the next morning she quickly got out of bed, changed clothes, and left for school.

"What happened to you Emily?" Her teacher asked her as she pointed at the child's freshly cut lip and bruise on her cheek.

"I fell down the stairs and hit my face on the umbrella rack" Emily lied as she went to her desk and started her class work that the teacher had wrote on the board. After school Emily returned home reluctantly to do her chores and find a way to make dinner. Her mother taught her how to cook so this wouldn't be the hard part. The hard part was finding food to make for dinner. When Emily got home and walked inside she dropped her book bag in her room and began her chores, then after she did the chores she made dinner. When her father got home she immediately finished dinner then went to her room and sat on her bed to do her homework. When she had finished she walked quietly to her bedroom door and opened it just a little so she could see the living room and kitchen. Her father was asleep on the couch with a beer bottle in his hand. She shut her door then walked back to her bed and laid down. All of a sudden a noise was coming from under her bed. She ignored it and went to sleep.

She was woken up by her father yelling and things being thrown around. She knew what was about to happen to her. She looked at the little pink clock on her nightstand to see it was two in the morning. She hid under her blankets waiting for the hands that never made her feel safe. After a minute or two her door slammed open and her nose stung of the stench of alcohol.  She pretended to be asleep but that didn't save her,  he grabbed her by her hair and slammed her on the ground. That's how her story begins.

Bones p. O. V.

I was at my desk in the realm of monsters when one of the creatures came in and sat down in the chair across from me. Her red eyes looked at me with anger.

"What are you doing here? You're suppose to be with Emily!" I said as I rubbed my skull temples. As a monster with a skull for a head, I sure do get a lot of headaches.

"I can't go there anymore,  I'm tired of being there and I'm scared of going there" She says as she scanned the room. Other monsters have made this complaint and now I just have to see it myself. So I wait awhile and go to Emily after two more monsters give the same report. I go that night to Emily's and wait in her closet. At the same time the other monsters report,  two in the morning,  it happens. The reason why they all quit on this young thing. Her father slams the door open and starts beating her,  abusing her in the worst ways, as she lays there blood running down her legs, her eyes bloodshot from the exhaustion. I get livid at the sight. This poor young girl who can't defend herself,  lays there in utter pain not able to fight anymore. I can't do anything right now, and honestly it pisses me off how fucked up this is for her to go through such traumatic experiences at such a young age. Emily shuffled her way up to her pillow and closed her eyes trying to fall asleep. I crept out of the closet and walk over to her, grabbing the blanket I cover her up and knelt by her bedside.

"Little one, I will save you. Even if it takes eternity, I will save you from this place" I whisper then kiss her forehead. I head back to the office and sigh as I sit in my office chair. Taking in everything while sipping on my mug of coffee, I ponder on a plan, I call in all the monsters that were assigned to EMily into the office.

"I need details, what else happened. I saw what he has been doing to her but I want to know what else has happened" I sighed while trying to contain my frustration.

"I don't think we can save her" Caspian said powerlessly, tears running down his furry cheek. He was always so optimistic that for once, he wasn't so happy.

I listened to everyone and their ideas until an idea of my own raised from the depths of my mind. I started writing and making plans while everyone else was still talking about how they could help Emily and what they would do to her parents. After I wrote out the reports of this morning and put it in the filing cabinet, I smiled as I grabbed Emilys photo and looked at it.

"I have an idea , I'll go to her school as a teacher, Caspian you will be a student in your freshman year. Her school doesn't separate the children from the teenagers so it would be perfect" I remarked happily as Caspian looked over to me with a questionable look. He then got the idea and nodded happily wiping the tears away.

"But we would have to find human forms that wouldn't look too suspicious right" Caspian asked while trying out different human forms. He found a human form that made him look like a teenager, a very tall one at that. I nodded my head and went through different human form until I found the right one that would allow me to be hired as a teacher. A long black beard, long black hair that has beads in it, hidden tattoos, and as always, tall. Caspian and I looked each other over in human form and we both nodded in approval.

"We will have to look like a family as well, find a house, and make ourselves more human like as to not raise suspicion" Caspian said, his chin resting on his palms, fingers covering his mouth, in deep thought of how to act. While he did that I put us in the system and basically made us human profiles and added history in case they want to look back further into us.

"Yes because we don't want them to come to us one day and say that they couldn't find anything past a certain date in time" I replied as I kept adding history and thought of a story for us to come up with. After spending hours working on this and getting a house and vehicles for us I also got myself a motorcycle, because I deserve it.

"Alright tomorrow morning we go to our new house and set it up, I got it all furnished and as for Emily, there will be no scaring her, we are going to protect children that are going through these type of traumatic experiences from now on" I said as I sat down in my office chair. Everyone gave a collective nod and left except Caspian who stayed back and helped me with our backstory and everything else. After awhile of storytelling and contemplating we both bid our good days as Caspian went home. I stayed until it was time to start our plan.
