Two Types of Chemistry (Kevedd)

A Needed Glass of Water

-Kevin P.O.V.-

I bury my face in Edd's old chemistry textbook and groan.

"Why do I need to take this stupid class?" I mumble.

"It is in our curriculum, Kevin." Edd says to me, while scribbling something on a flashcard.

I lift my head from the book and take my hat off, placing it down on my desk. I rub my temples and sigh.

Ugh, this shit is giving me a headache and we've only been working for about 10 minutes.

I get up from the chair I was sitting in and made my way over to my lovely looking bed. Looking nice and cozy when I had a bunch of studying to do. How dare it look so nice. I cave to the comfort and lay down on my back, although I was surprised when Edd didn't stop me.

"Kevin, I know you're irritated but let's try and work with some flashcards I just made up, okay?" He says very calm and sweetly to me.

I sigh. I can't let my anger affect him.

He's trying to help you Kevin! Control yourself!

"Sure, let's try it." I exhale calmly.

He turns in his chair so he can face me while I still lay in my bed. He holds up a card with a picture of a molecule neatly drawn on it.

I never knew he was so good at drawing.

"Please tell me what molecule this is."

I stare at the card for a bit but no answers come to mind. Completely blank.

"Ugh, I have no idea, babe." I yell out, throwing my arms in the air.

Edd sat there calm and collected. Probably having to deal with this when it came to Eddy.

"Let's go over this in steps. How many different atoms do you see?" He says softly.

"I don't freaking know, maybe three?" I say in annoyance.

"Good, good, point them out so I know you see them correctly."

I raise my arm and stick out my pointer finger.

"There's some in the center and some on the outside."

"Which ones do you see?"

"Hydrogen, Oxygen, and.." I squint a bit, making sure I can see it correctly from a distance. "Carbon."

"What molecule do those atoms make?" He asks.

"Yeah that's the shit I don't know." I say in defeat.

I really should have paid more attention in class.

He smiles a smile that makes me feel a little better.

"Since I know the problem, I can fix it." He says, turning back to the desk.

I sit up from my bed and run my fingers through my hair.

"I'm gonna get us some water." I say, getting up and going towards the door.

"Kevin wait." I hear from behind me.

I turn around and Edd hurries and hugs me. He nuzzles his face in my chest and I hug him back.

"Kevin?" He says, looking up at me.

"Hmm?" I say, looking down at his cute little face.

"I am very proud of your dedication to this course." He smiles.

"Thanks, babe." I say, smiling back at him.

I bend down and kiss him before we break our embrace. I walk out of the room and to the kitchen so I can get the waters.
