-Kevin P.O.V.-
Should I put the book in a bag, or wrap it? I really hope he likes it, dumb and dumber rushed me and I couldn't properly pick out a book. I should have gotten something more heartfelt.
After a minute of debating of what to do, I decided to pick out a pretty red and green striped paper and went to town on wrapping the book to pure perfection.
Then I hear the front door open from down stairs and some bags drop on the floor making loud thuds.
"Kev? Ya home?" I hear my dad's deep voice call out for me.
"Yeah." I respond to him with a yell.
I quickly get up and run down stairs to meet him.
I see him standing in front of the door, looking totally exhausted.
"Hey, Bud. How's it been? Staying out of trouble?" He asks me sort of awkwardly.
It's been a long time since I've seen him, which was my 18th birthday at the beginning of August.
"Yeah. You could say that." I respond, rubbing the back of my neck and looking away.
It's not like I had the entire football team trying to come after me or anything. And I got shot.. but let's not mention that.
"So how was your flight from wherever you were?" I ask before he could respond.
"Very good. The agency paid for a private jet this time so it was smooth sailing."
I pick up his bags for him and start to take them upstairs.
"So how long at you staying for?" I ask while I hike up the stairs.
"Until the 1st." He responds with a loud call.
"Nice!" I say enthusiasticly
I can actually see you for more than two days.
I quickly put his bags in his bland, dusty, barely used room and I head back down stairs to see him sitting at the table.
"So what do you want to do tonight? Wanna go see a movie or something? No one is gonna be around since it's Christmas eve and all." He asks, just trying to make conversation.
"Well, I would like to have a formal dinner tonight and uh, have you meet someone." I say, trying to hide my nerves. I walk over to the table and sit in the chair closest to him.
"Meet someone? You're dating again? I thought you were focusing on school and football?"
"I met them through tutoring and football is over anyways. It's December, dad."
"So she's a smart one?" He asked me.
"Uh, yeah." I say awkwardly, trying not to give awat that I'm actually dating a guy yet.
"When will she be over?"
"Around 5."
I wish he'd stop saying she..
I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket and it's a text from Eddward.
[My Love: Are we exchanging gifts tonight? *insert present emoji*]
I smile at my phone, excited to give him my gift.
"Is that her?" He asks me.
"Uhm, how could you tell?" I ask, a little embarrassed, pulling my phone close to my chest.
"By the dumb look on your face. Let me see what she said." He teases, taking my phone right out of my hand, surprising me.
"Awwww, you put in her in your phone as 'My Love'. How adorable." He teases again.
