Y/n's pov

Y/n is bringing a plate of almond tofu, which she made herself, to the roof of the Wangshu inn per her mother's request.

Strange. She thought. Why would anyone want to be on the roof during this kind of weather? Or really at all? It was raining at Liyue, and y/n can see the grey skies from passing windows. Oh, no matter. I'm sure they have their reasons. Y/n shook her head to clear away her ransom thoughts and stepped onto the roof.

Glancing around, y/n found no one on the roof. "Hello?" She called out nervously as rain dripped from her bangs to her eyelashes, "is anyone here? Your almond tofu is rea- agh-"

Y/n leaned backwards in surprise as a pair of amber eyes stared into hers, she felt herself slipping from the roof, and she tensed up. Oh archons why do I have to die this way. Y/n yelped as she felt a stonf pair of arms embrace her, pulling her back on the safety of the roof. "T-thank you-" she stuttered as she lay in this man's arms.

"Who are you mortal, and why do you have my food with you." The amber-eyed male glared at y/n while still holding her tightly in his arms.

"Um." Ducking her head in hopes of having her long silky hair sweep foward to cover her pink-tinted face, y/n blushed as the male's hold tightened. "My mother, Verr Goldet, told me to make this and give it to you." Y/n held the plate of almond tofu in front of her, "and um, would you mind letting go of me? I appreciate you catching me, I really do, but-" She cut herself off when she felt the pair of arms release her. Y/n finally looked up, cheeks still tinited a pale pink from the previous accident, "Might I ask your name? I'm y/n by the way." She peeped nervously.

The amber-eyed male glanced at her intently, now holding his plate of almond tofu in his hands replied, "Xiao," and quickly resumed back to eating.

Xiao?! As in Adeptus Xiao?! Y/n was gaping, her face once again a cherry red. I just got saved by an adeptus. "Excuse me, Adeptus Xiao" she muttered and ran down to confront her mother.

Xiao's Pov

Xiao ate his almond tofu slowly, pondering in his thoughts. Tsk. How could I have forgotten that I was still holding the mortal. Xiao glanced at the place where y/n had stood before. So she's Verr Goldet's daughter huh. She's... a strange one.

Glancing down at his nearly finished plate, Xiao smiled gently at the mysteries surrounding this mortal. Until we meet again, y/n.

Y/n's pov

"Mom!" Y/n rushed down the stairs, almost tripping herself in the process.

"Yes dear?" Verr Goldet turned away from talking to Smiley Yanxiao, "did you give the almond tofu to the customer dear?"

"Of course I did!" Y/n stormed up to her mother, cheeks still flushed from her encounter with Xiao. "Why didn't you tell me that the customer is Adeptus Xiao?!" Verr Goldet's eyes widened.

"So he's already told you his name has he>" The girl's mother shook her head twice before saying, "no matters. It's getting late, you should go to bed y/n my dear."

"But-"

Verr Goldet waved y/n off with a hand, "no buts."

Y/n fumed silently as she walked to her room. So much for questioning my moms' motives. Y/n sighed as she layed down on her bed with a plop. With her cheeks tinted red and a visible smile on her face, y/n rolled to her side.

So Xiao likes almond tofu huh.
