"The customers keep invading the store as if we are selling books at 50% discount. Happens only when I have somewhere else to be at."
"Mrs Lin keeps holding the line for some extra discount on her cookbook that shows how precisely one must cut chicken breasts. You look like a walking corpse straight out of the grave, why do you need a book that demonstrates how to cut other corpses? That too with an additional discount? Buy the fucking book and clear the damn line."
"Ma'am, I'm sorry, we can't offer you a discount on this book."
"What do you mean no discount? I need it. Mr Mooney is a great friend of mine, I'm sure he will not be happy with your behaviour, young boy." The old woman pouts.
"You waste of air!"
"I can't do that, ma'am. Not in my power." Joe makes eye contact with the woman.
"I'd like to speak to the manager."
"You fucking plastic bag!"
"I am the manager." A small forced smile slips into his lips.
"Hey, how long? We have been waiting here for like an eternity." Another man pipes up in the crowd.
"I'm sorry, please wait." "This used leather bag refuses to move, oh Nora, how do I get to you now?"
"Ma'am, please step aside, I'm going to attend to your needs later, I need to clear the line."
"I'm not waiting until all of them are gone. I need to leave now."
"How do I get rid of a bod- oh shut up, stop, right there, stop."
"Ethan!" Joe calls out. "I need your help down here."
The lack of response from Ethan cracks Joe's nerves. Joe runs around the aisles, aimlessly looking for Ethan.
"Ethan!" Joe finds Ethan sitting on a stool with earphones plugged in. Joe trudges towards Ethan and pulls out his earphones.
"I've been calling for your assistance and you are here listening to-"
"Enrique Iglesias," Ethan replies amicably.
"These are officially the darkest days in the history of the world."
"Ethan, I need you to handle the store, I'm required to be somewhere else right now. Could you do that for me?"
" Joe, it's your responsibility now-"
Joe lynches towards Ethan, gripping Ethan's shoulders. His eyes depict urgency and Ethan is mildly shaken. "Please, Ethan."
"JOE, OKAY, fine, I'll take care of the store." Ethan spits out in shock.
"Thanks, Ethan, I'm leaving now."
...
"I am an hour late, thanks to the white noise machine who kept me from you. What a world! The guard at the entry didn't cause too much trouble. Mentioning Daniel helped him lower his guard. Who knew that Daniel's guests have a code word for entry at the Peach Salinger's house and that code word is "#nosypeach." It almost slipped my mind but I'm here for you. That's all that matters."
"A gigantic house, obviously Peach's type. If she is capable of designing something like this who knows what kind of horrors she is capable of. Did you really have to perform here Nora?"
The crowd consists of people who range from drinking martinis and screaming vociferously like psychotic jumbos to classic ladies and gentlemen who were judging the drunkards.
