You messed up.

You messed up big time.

Gulping down the rising bile that was starting to coat your tongue, you looked up at the bottle green orbs that were staring at you, belonging to a towering figure that had you cornered in the empty hall of the huge Mansion, trapping you between his hands that rested on either side of you, reaching the wall.

"You can't run, (Y/n)," Said Danielle's deep voice, "Here me out first."

In your first life, kabe dons had been cute romantic moments you often read in manga. This was downright terrifying.

"A-alright," You croaked.

But, eh, let's rewind things a bit, shall we?

You felt more than uncomfortable in the overly extravagant gown the maids had insisted you dress in. Not to mention they positively forced you to wear one of those elegant gloves that make your hands sweat and itch due to the sliperriness.

Your hair was tied in a complicated updo that you'd have never been able to do yourself without tangling the whole of your (h/c) mane together.

Plastering on a smile, you took your father's hand- who was to be your escort- and braced yourself to face a large crowd grimacing over you once the colossal gates of Ortiz's Manor opened.

They were bound to whisper behind your back, you were the evil villainess of the book, after all. To be honest, you had no plans to stop them. You knew you weren't the villainous person everyone thought you were, and that was enough.

Your father gave your hand a gentleman squeeze.

"Ready?"

Smiling, you nodded.

As the golden gates of the Manor were finally pulled open from the inside, came in view the huge party that was undoubtedly taking place at the huge garden. Noble women and men were bustling by, taking sips from their goblets and chatting vivaciously, and Lydia was to be seen sitting on the nearest to the door, greeting the guests.

"(Y/n)!" She exclaimed as she saw you, grinning widely, "Glad you're here!"

The middle aged lady on her right, who greatly resembled the brunette scowled at her daughter's behavior, "What have I said about using honorifics when talking to fellow nobles?"

Lydia gazed down at the ground, mumbling, "But mum...we're friends."

The lady still looked highly dissapproving, "Maybe at school you are, but this is a formal party we've held. You cannot go shouting other people's first names, it's considered rude."

Your lips furrowed at how Lydia was being treated. You had read in the book that her parents were really strict.

Then, lady Ortiz plastered a smile on her heavily painted lips, talking to your father, "It is a pleasure to have you here, Count of (L/n). And the young Lady, too."

She turned and smiled at you, but somehow you felt a shiver run down your spine in reaction. She was scary.

"U-um," Lydia started cautiously, "I'll show lady (L/n) around."

With that, she grabbed your arm and dragged you away from the scary adult.

Your eyebrows raised in amusement, you asked, "Lady (L/n)? Such formality!"

Lydia seemed slightly embarrassed, and twiddled with her fingers, "I'm sorry for that. My mum can be...a bit paranoid."

"Nah, it's alright," You dismissed her apology, looking around for a certain pinkhead, "Where's Valerie?"
