James and Astrid tiptoed out of the Gryffindor common room and tumbled outside the portrait hole landing on top of each other.
"Watch where you're going, idiot!""It wasn't even my fault! And get up you're too close!" James said trying to throw Astrid off him.
Astrid flushed furiously as she picked herself up."You're making too much noise!" She hissed in his ear.
"Well, maybe I wouldn't if you stopped arguing" He hissed back.
"Are you actually blaming me?!?""Can you just shut up! Filch will be here anytime soon with that snobby cat of his- Mrs. Filch or whatever."
James laughed so hard that he actually looked like he was snorting.
"M-Mrs. Filch-", he managed to say between laughs. "Her name is Mrs. Norris!"
After 3 whole minutes when James finally composed himself again he threw the invisibility cloak over both of them. They slowly made their way down the stairs keeping careful not to attract too much noise.
After 10 minutes of walking without being spotted and only making it a few floors below Astrid whispered groaning as James stepped on her foot yet again, "You know what, let's just chuck this idea. I'm tired."
Now was James's turn to look skeptical. He looked at her with such a face that Astrid thought he might faint or something."Who are you and what have you done with Astrid?" He said tackling her to the ground.
"Ouuccchh! Stop it, James! Get off me, you're too heavy! Uggghh!"
"Oh never mind- It's you alright-" James said as he got off her.Astrid got up and slapped him hard on his cheek.
"What was that for"-
Astrid rolled her eyes. " I can't believe you had the audacity to ask that."
After around forty-five minutes of fighting and yelling at each other on the way they finally reached the astronomy tower.
"I can not believe that it took us forty-five minutes to just come out of the dorms out here", Astrid sighed."Well, we're here now!", James smacked his lips. "Time for the adventure to begin."
"Ok let's go try to find what happened up here!" Astrid said excitedly. "I think we should split up. You take the left corridor and I'll take the right. Just yell if you find anything or if you fall in trouble"
"All right."
They both went their separate ways.
Astrid climbed up the staircase and went upstairs to check out the telescopes. James went straight ahead and started examining the tapestries. Then he stopped abruptly and strained his ears to hear something. Yes, he was sure of it. Someone was definitely following him. He could hear their footsteps echoing in the deep silence. By the sound of it. it seemed like there wasn't just one person following him. There were quite a few.
He waited until the footsteps neared and saw two Slytherin third-years approaching him. He hid behind a suit of armor and waited until they passed. The problem was, they stopped right there.
"Now, now! There's no need to be afraid Lil one" One of them said sniggering. "Come outside and face us like a man."
James debated on what he should do. After a few seconds, he slowly came out from behind the suit of armor. He looked closely at the both of them, He was sure he had seen them somewhere. Their faces were vaguely familiar though James couldn't place them."What do you want?" He said in the meanest voice he could muster.
"Oh, nothing! Just revenge my old friend" The second one said. "For beating us in quidditch the last match."
"And the best part is, you can't even report us because then you'd have to confess you were here too."
"Hahh....so basically you couldn't beat me with talent so you switched to violence? Pathetic. But still, nothing I wouldn't expect from a Slytherin."
"You little-" The bulkier of the two, third years pounced on him and punched James hard on the face.
He let out a scream of pain.
"Not so brave now are we?" The Slytherin taunted.
James got up and kicked one of the guys on his shins. The other guy slapped James on the face and then dragging his friend, left quickly. James sighed and got up his cheek throbbing and went to look for Astrid.
This was a bad idea, of course. He should have listened to Rose.It was stupid to come here looking for something that didn't even exist.
But boy, they were going to pay for this.

Astrid whipped around as she heard a terrified scream which undeniably sounded like James. Goosebumps erupted on her skin as she walked slowly walked towards the place of commotion.
After a few more minutes she saw him walking towards her.
" OH thank god, you're ok! I was worried si-" Astrid stopped mid-sentence. "What the hell happened to you-"
"Nothing."
"IT'S NOT NOTHING! WHO DID THIS?!? TELL ME JAMES!" Astrid said shaking his shoulders.
"No one..I just tripped."
"Yeah right. JUST TELL ME."
"WHAT WILL U DO IF YOU COME TO KNOW? THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO, JUST DROP IT!"
Astrid glared at him. James sighed.
"I-They were Slytherin third years on the quidditch team".A/N- Ok this chapter ended up becoming a biiit more longer than I had intended to make it-
