Faisal looked happily surprised as he opened the gate. Alhaji drove into the parking lot and killed the engine as we all came out of the car.
"Abokina!" He called cheerfully engulfing me in a brotherly hug
"I never thought you'd be discharged this early, i was thinking something after two weeks" He teased as we broke the hug
"It was hard convincing Alhaji"I whispered to him and he laughed
"Barka da zuwa Alhaji " he further greeted as he opened the boot to help mannarh with the stuff while i turned to further into the compound together with Alhaji
"ya taleeb..."Hannan called as i was about to take the turn to my boys quarter.
"your meds.."She said handing me the while clinic paper bag
"please use it as prescribed..after eating well"She added as i collect it
"thank you and don't mind Mannarh"I shook my head knowing fully well it was mannarh who had told her about me not eating much
"He better do...or we go back to the hospital this instance" Alhaji joked and we all laugh.
"Ai ya taleeb won't..."Hannan was saying when we heard a loud laugh from the entrance door to the main building. We all turned to see Hajiya laughing genuinely, she looked so happy, oh i must confess i've never seen her smile talk more of laughing this hard. She was walking together with Alhaji Dicco (Alhaji's best friend) by her side, I looked over to hannan who has a deep frown etched on her face as she watched the scene before us with her arms fold and back to Alhaji who was looking confused while Mannarh and Faisal was wearing amused expressions.
Alhaji Dicco said something and Hajiya laughed harder holding her stomach and bending a little, obvious to our presence. Alhaji dicco was the first to notice us as he made his way to where we all stood, hajiya cleaned her tears still smiling, she looked over to Alhaji dicco and followed his gaze, that was when she noticed us, her whole demeanor changed, she looked disappointed? as her frown made it's way back to her face quickly, she sluggishly walked over to us.
"Alhaji Muhammad.." Alhaji dicco praised in a brotherly manner presenting his hand for a handshake
"Salaamualaika Ahmad"Alhaji took it with a forced smile. "Good evening Alhaji" i greeted
"yawwa taleeb, ya jiki?"He asked and i mutterd an Alhamdulillah
"May Allah grant you a speedy recovery.
Kuma a kiyaye rigima nan gaba" he said with what seems like a mocking smile? How did he even know about what happened, was it from hajiya?
"Sannun ku da zuwa"hajiya said clearly uninterest. She threw me a once over and smirked. Hajiya sadiya never came to visit me or better still even for once send her welfare throughout my stay at the hospital, i wasn't surprised though, I knew she never liked me and if anything she will be the most happy when she comes to know about what has happened. Faisal told me that she had asked of me and about what happened, when he told her everything she had just shrugged it off without any care.
"I came to pay a surprise visit, its been long i came to see the family. But sadiya said you weren't around. Luckily, i meet kamaal before he went out and lateefah also, she said she's sick. Allah ya kara saukin jiki "Alhaji dicco Explained and i noticed as hannan narrowed her eyes at him, the kind of negative and suspicious looks she was throwing his way wasn't pleasant at all, she didn't even greet him.
"oh, Allah sarki...jazakallahu khair" Alhaji gave a pleased smile
