Coming back from their little trip around town, visiting places, and meeting familiar faces, Kris and Susie finally reached the area of Kris's home. They noticed their mother's van parked on the road beside their home, meaning that she was in the house.
Walking forward, Kris reached the entrance as Susie placed both hands in her pockets.
"So, Kris," Susie asked. "You going home?"
Kris looked at her as they moved away from the doorway.
"Yeah," they said.
"Alright," she muttered, gazing down on the ground. "Then, I guess it's goodbye for today."
She waved a hand before facing away from them.
"See ya tomorrow, Kris," she said.
But before she could even take a step, the door opened as Toriel greeted the two.
"Kris!" she said before noticing Susie. "Oh, is she a friend of yours?"
Kris nodded in response as Susie gave a nervous glance to the goat mother.
"Please, darling, you don't need to be afraid," Toriel said, noticing Susie's look. "I don't bite. Besides, a little more help wouldn't hurt a bit."
"Little more help?" Susie said in confusion before looking at Kris. "Uh, what does she mean?"
"Don't tell me you've forgotten, Kris!" Toriel said as she eyed the human. "We were supposed to meet this other human and greet them. Remember?"
Judging from the look Kris gave, they have forgotten about that. They aren't blamed for this, however. They and their friends were busy dealing with the Dark World and their inhabitants, among other things.
"Well, at least you made it a little early," Toriel sighed. "I still need to bake another pie, though."
"W-wait! Another human?!" Susie asked. "Since when did another human come here?!"
"From what I believed, he moved here yesterday," Toriel answered. "And Kris wanted to meet him, so we decided to give the person a visit. You can even tag along if you like."
Susie felt surprised upon hearing Toriel's little proposal. On the one hand, she didn't plan on staying with Kris after their adventure. But on the other hand, she didn't have plans for tonight either, and she's free to do whatever she wants by then.
Maybe spending a little more time with some other human wouldn't be so bad. Besides, an hour or two with the weirdo she considers a "friend" doesn't hurt and would definitely kill some time.
"Alright," Susie huffed, glancing at Toriel. "I wouldn't mind joining or whatever."
"Perfect!" Toriel said as she clapped both of her hands together. "In that case, why don't you help me bake the last pie?"
"W-wait," Susie said, perplexed. "As in, together?"
"Yes," Toriel responded.
"But I don't know how to make one," Susie said.
"Do not worry, child. I'll be teaching you how to."
Susie couldn't decline the offer, even though she didn't need to.
'Gah, curse this woman and her kindness!' she thought before looking up at Toriel and giving a solemn "OK" in response.
"Well then," Toriel began moving away from the doorway as she gestured to the two. "Come inside, both of you. The pie isn't going to bake itself."
