A plot twist is an unexpected development, that is sometimes hinted at, and changes the course of book or show. I understand that many people like to write without an outline however this is how I write mine when I'm in slump.
I assume (character) does (what), at (where), by (how), with (whom), because (why), but what if.....
- one of those is wrong
- one or more is the opposite
- someone is lying about where they were, why they did it, how they did it, or who they were with
- there is no motive
- there is no other person / someone is being framed
- someone is not giving vital information on the situation
- I suspect the wrong person
- I have the wrong motive
